I have no inside info, but my guess is he stepped on some toes at the State Police and/or the Mayor's office and his management told him to back off.

Nakamoto is a poser. He doesn’t have the freedom to go after anything big. His employer won’t allow it.
He’ll investigate private citizens and officials in neighboring parishes - if they aren’t too well connected. But otherwise he’s just sensationalized pap fed to the viewers who are happy to consume it.
Not his fault, really. He’s on a chain. But he isn’t near the pit bull his station or this board makes him out to be.

Not literally, but yes he promotes himself, as does his employer, as investigating corruption wherever it is. Yet he won’t walk or drive less than a mile away from his work desk and ask anyone in EBR government about any of the controversies that pop up- like skyrocketing crime, police officers leaving in droves, or, say, spending $6M on low income housing with a contractor who hasn’t been properly vetted.
If he’d just ask why the traffic signals don’t ever seem to be synchronized, I’d be less critical of him.
