The Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport posted a warning to let residents know not to be alarmed. According to NCBC, the SpaceX capsule is expected to reenter the atmosphere around 9:30pm Monday. When that happens, residents along the coast may see a fireball for 5-10 minutes. A loud sonic boom may also be heard.

I remember seeing one back in 2002 ish in Slidell.

Left a tail prettyuch straight across the night sky at like 3am.

The boom was like 2 minutes delayed and about made me shite myself.

If it's clear outside, go outside and watch it. It's really incredible.

Just based on my redneck calculations we should be able to faintly see it coming down until it gets to around 30,000ft. Depends on the angle of approach, what obstructions are around, etc.

Caught it from the Gulf of Mexico. We are about 60 miles out. Flew probably 30 miles or so south of us. Caught it from horizon to horizon.

a lot of people talking about how low in the sky it was - depending on location and angle of course. But that's a good reminder that not everybody realizes how close space really is. We're talking 60 miles up. The ISS orbits 220 miles above the ground. Draw a line on google maps that's 220 miles and then think about standing that line up to point into the sky. Space is really close.... you just gotta go sideways really fast to stay there (orbit)

I was outside at work and witnessed it. I didn't know what it was at the time, but was cool to see.
