It's a lot easier to transfer from a champagne than an ice chest, and the champagne is pretty much useful all the time

I boil between 1 and 3 sacks a week. My fisherman has extreme large crawfish but it is also filled with eaten bait, grass and other debris. Just a normal rinsing in an ice chest won't do for a sack of these giants. They are such a pleasure to eat, I go thru the extra effort to make sure I get everything out.
We can eat the meat in 90% of the claws on these crawfish.
Doing something that works better, easier and safer is not overthinking.

I can get better and easier, but safer? You just mean safer as in more likely to completely clean the crawfish and not about being in harm's way, huh?
Obviously we're all getting crawfish that have been cleaned to varying degrees. What I'm able to buy here in Austin is pretty clean when I get it, so nothing like what you're buying (I'm jealous) that needs a deeper clean.
I've always used an ice chest. But as an apartment dweller, finding a basket that fits in or on my pot might be more practical for storage than one of those big white ice chests.

Here ya go! These work pretty damn well.
$80 for a bucket with a damn whole in it??? I'll stick to the ice chest method

Here is the best method I have found. Go to walmart and buy a medium size rubbermaid tote that has a lid that latches. Then, on one of the short sides of the lid, drill a bunch of holes. Oila. Put crawfish in, fill with water, put lid on, shake and toss around, tilt and pour water out through the lid which is a strainer, refill with water, repeat.

shake and toss around
I'd advise against this

I have one of those flip fold pots with the strainer built in so I have to dump live crawfish in hot water. For me it is safer using a champagne basket with handles, I have a lot more control.
I give a lot of crawfish away so I do many of my boils without any help.

Ive got a cooler that perfectly fits a sack of crawfish. I have it too close to the burner one time and melted the insulation so it is my cleaning cooler now. Took the plug out of it so the drain hole is bigger. I can put a rubber stopper in there if i need to, but usually i jsut spray with a hose until the water comes out fairly clear.
