Ok fellas, let's talk all things cigars!

(This poast was edited from its original, the OP is below in its entirety)

Do Cigar threads belong on the FDB?

This question really has to do with board philosophy, and not an actual discussion about cigars.

Do cigar discussions belong here on the FDB or on some other form? There are semi-regular cigar threads on the OT lounge, but nothing really to go back and reference.

The Whisky/bourbon/Scotch thread is informative, and it's a good resource to go back through and see what everyone is drinking.

Personally, I think an official cigar thread would work well here.

As someone who enjoys talking about food, I have no interest in cigar talk. None. I understand how alcohol can go with food, but not cigars. That being said, I could care less if there is a thread on this board, I simply won’t read it.

I think it makes more sense here than OT Lounge. It's possible to go an entire page on here without a Tree Fiddy or Truck Nuts reference. OT Lounge, that is not possible

So I guess you certainly could care less, since you showed much passion here.

For anyone to say cigar talk doesn't belong on a food board is plain ignorance. Part of the beauty of cigars is enjoying them with coffee, food and/or drinks.

We will note your hatred of cigars though. Look forward to seeing you in the future cigar thread

Yes, and I think an official thread would have some traffic. We have discussed them in the whisky thread, but I would certainly be interested and participate in a dedicated cigar one. I'm a casual, occasional smoker, but I'm always looking to discuss and learn.

I was downvoted for having too long of fingernails in my cigar thread post.

Granted I was the only one to post a pic

Nice . I've never had a Caldwell. How is it?

I'm eyeing a Padron 1926 maduro to enjoy after dinner

I hadn’t had any Caldwell stogies before two weeks ago, and I picked up a sampler. All of them have been really solid and I’ll probably try to keep a 5-pack of their sampler in my humidor at all times moving forward.

I had a Padron 1926 a few weeks ago. Great stick.

I that Oliva is what got me back into cigars. A while back my buddy busted them out, and it was great. Now I’m slowly building up a very small collection. I bought a few sampler packs from Famous Smoke, and I grabbed a 5 pack of Padron (which are incredible). Smoked one about a month ago while sipping a Midwinter Night Dram, and that was a great experience. Awesome pairing of flavors.

This is my starter stash currently. The Tatiana on the left are for my wife, but I enjoy those as well when looking for that sweet tooth.

OP needs to change the thread title. This can be our official cigar thread here, since we are already posting in it.

Since he asked our opinions on if we thought cigars belonged here, I answered. Then, I was trying to say I wouldn’t mind if there was a thread. I would have no interest, but it would not bother me if there was one.

Fair enough. After rereading your post, I can see how it could be written without snark. I’m so used to the standard TD snark that I read it as such. My apologies.

Nothing pairs with a good cigar better than that.

Padrons are some of the best cigars in the world. You really can't go wrong with any of their offerings.

Looking good.
What is that humidifying disc in the top left? I use Bovedas to control mine--they're so easy and I recommend them.

Nice pairing. Laphroaig always put me in the mood for a cigar.
