Does that burner even bring it to a boil?

In addition to an 80 qt costing less there is another benefit, I'm a decent-sized guy and although its really heavy when full, I can still pick-up and dump an 80 qt without help. Unless you are huge, the 100 qt and bigger pots are too large for a single person to move and dump by themselves if the pot is full

This is when I say hey Joe put down the beer for 1 second and help me carry this heavy arse shite to the drain to dump.

100qt is the way to go

This is the setup I just bought a couple of weeks ago on the recommendation of a fellow poster.

I've only used it once so far and it worked well. It brought 10 gallons of water to a rolling boil in about 20 minutes. Brought the 100qt pot because it was 30% off and I just want to have the extra room just in case.

Bayou Classic 100 qt Stock Pot

Bayou Classic Double Jet Burner

My only complaint is that the burner appears to be a flimsy but it held the pot fine. No wobble.

You ain't never lied! Last year, my cousin lifted the lid on a boil I was doing and I almost lost my shite...until I needed him to help me carry and drain the heavy arse pot.

I had someone almost lift the lid on my jambalaya one time when the rice was simmering. I basically screamed at him.

Sp2 and 100qt is a good choice

I have the 100qt and the sp10. it seems like it takes forever for that first pot of water to boil. anyone got suggestions or should I just upgrade to the sp2?

looks like that's 185K BTUs vs 210k between the 10 and 2. Is the difference that noticeable or is it the double jet that makes the difference?

But based on what I'm reading here, I'd discourage using the sp10 with the 100qt and instead buy the sp2 if you're starting from scratch
