In the "well that didn't take long" category, we have yesterday's Major Order for killing 2 BILLION bugs within 6 days.

It was completed before the day was out yesterday.

There's discussion that kills were accidentally counting 3:1 or 4:1 (a single kill counting for each individual in the group), but Arrowhead released numbers and as of this morning there were something like 18B bugs killed since yesterday. That still blows the 2B count out of the water.

It's crazy that everyone gets the reward, regardless of whether they participated in the MO.

So I've pretty much stopped playing as there are too many other good games out right now and I'm not a fan of how the devs are "balancing" the game, but there's a new warbond out next week for those still playing:

I logged in last night for the first time in about a week. I've noticed few of my friends on Steam are still playing at all, much less regularly.

Their small nerfs are starting to make the game uninteresting. Players want to be awash in the digitized blood of scores of virtual enemies. You can make content difficult, but there's a point of declining returns when you go about it by taking away from the players' ability to create havoc.

I ran the new defend mission last night (solo on levels 1 and 2) which is to now turn off the giant termicide machines since the terminids seem to be adapting through mutation caused by the gas. I believe the time limit was 10 minutes? 12? I completed them both but on just level 2 I ran out of ammo multiple times because they've cranked the spawn rate up a bit too much after doing some weapon nerfs.

Not enough time and reduced damage out = less fun.

That said, the new weapons could be interesting if they are in any way worthwhile.

While it doesn’t affect me since I already have PSN account, it’s going to suck for players in countries where PSN is not available (Philippines and Russia come to mind) where a decent chunk of players get locked from the game they paid money to purchase.

Sony corporate greed trying to accelerate the downfall of one of their surprise hit games smh

I don’t own a PlayStation for a reason. I’m tired of having to give piece of shite corporations my information for literally everything. Probably not going to comply and stop playing. I got a large amount of time played and had fun so I don’t feel cheated… maybe they’ll revert this requirement once they see they completely obliterated their player base.

This mixed with nerfing the guns I used have turned me off a decent bit. I don't understand why game developers constantly feel the need to tweak, and PSN forcing it's way into this is just corporate greed trying to sell my data.

Same. I see myself coming back every so often to max out the new warbond release.

Beyond that, I probably will shelve it until they introduce the Illuminates

Why the frick should I have to create a PSN account for a game I bought on steam? Especially when the company has one of the highest number of data breaches in the past ten years?

There are regions where psn isn't available and those folks are essentially locked out

This whole thing is just another ridiculous Reddit moment. People have been bypassing region locked stuff for years but now we must get our pitchforks out.

I figure Sony will probably see some heft lawsuits from those countries. You simply can't sell someone a product then deny them use of it, especially when you know ahead of time you shouldn't be selling to them.

Don't buy a product you can't fricking use. How you gonna sue for that?

fricking liberals, a little accountability here. It clearly said you need a PSN account to play it, if you bought it anyway, well that was a dumb fricking idea huh? Like buying Youku and then being shocked it doesn't work here.

Except they could fricking use it.

Take that shite back to Poli. This isn't about politics, it's about the different laws in different countries governing sales and access. In the Baltics, for example, you can legitimately buy a PS but Sony does not have PSN account creation for any of the Baltic nations.

At the time, Sony's website said this:

It now says this:

quote:

Do I have to sign in to PSN to play a PlayStation game on PC?

Some PlayStation games may require you sign in and link to an account for PSN.

Steam said one thing, Sony said another and now Sony is changing their tune. Depending on how the laws are written in different countries, this could well be considered bait-and-switch in some places.

Correct, there are regions that were allowed to purchase the game and are now locked out of their game. Playstation has an issue in that regard
