40,000 people attended on a Friday

Not bad for the “exhibition” tournament with a $20,000,000 purse

All you losers realize this league isn’t going away anytime soon, right?

Of course, they aren't. They have infinite money. Everyone knows this.

And.. a growing international following. Almost a million people watched LIV’s broadcast on Australia’s Channel 7.

That’s not close to the Masters viewership but, it’s Not bad for a league that “no one watches.”

I have a question about LIV.

I’ve watched it some, it’s entertaining enough and they obviously have some world class golfers that draw people in.

The big sticking point to why they don’t get OWGR points is because they don’t play 4 rounds right? So why don’t they just…. Play 4 rounds?

Because the allure and selling point to the players was three rounds (and I THINK no pro-ams?) and more money and larger purses. You know-work less, be rewarded more. Which is exactly what the younger generation craves.

Does LIV drug test? I believe the PGA was forced to start to be part of the Olympics.

None of which would exist if they didn't have infinite money.

A whole lot of stupid in this thread this morning…

Wrong. OWGR just awarded points to 54 hole events on the Clutch Pro Tour. Look that up & there are a ton of differences between that and LIV.

OWGR & LIV is dead though. LIV is no longer worried about getting OWGR points and it’s up to OWGR to fix their system or the majors will start having exemptions for LIV players.

I figured the PGA/PIF merger would fix all of this, but I’m not as optimistic now

To rank the best players in the world, yeah. That’s their job. Their system is broken if Rahm is ranked #53rd & not getting in to majors.

It is not the job of the OWGR to conform to LIV's rules. In fact, it is the other way around.

I mean it doesn’t really matter. LIV has already given up on their application. The majors will find another way to get the best players in the world in to their tournaments

Nah, they play pro-am’s every tournament. I mean it’s called “LIV” as in 54 in Roman numerals. They have 54 players & play 54 holes. Yeah, there are a few guys enjoy the lighter schedule, but it’s not everyone.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Most of the younger LIV guys under 30 actually want to play more. They have no problem playing 20+ times a year

I think it’s more due to the tour not being open to promotion and relegation, at least based on their more recent comments

It’s irrelevant now with LIV dropping their application

By far the bigger problem is that it’s a closed system absent 1 - 3 spots. The OWGR probably would’ve worked around format if the system were open.

How did Joaquin Niemann get invited to The Masters & PGA Championship?
Enough about the OWGR bull shite though

It’s irrelevant to the tournament going on in Adelaide
