Growing up my mom worked in the pro shop and my dad worked in the maintenance group at Frasch Park in Sulphur. My dad retired from there after almost 30 years but my mom only worked there a few years.

We would be there from sun up until sun down on a lot of days during the summer. Sometimes we went to the park... sometimes we swam in the public pool... sometimes we played golf.

I remember playing at least 54 in a day on many occasions... walking all of it because we weren't old enough to drive the carts. I was probably between the ages of 8 and 12 during the time my mom worked there.

180 holes. A fundraiser, get donations per hole you play. Temperature was 32 when we started. 5 rds in the morning, and 5 in the afternoon. I was one tired puppy. Everybody had their own cart, threesomes.

Probably somewhere in the 60-75 range.

There are plenty of times we would go out and play 36 before lunch and spend another 7 hours after a quick bite playing and gambling. When you gamble, the holes don’t matter you can lose track of holes, and time, quick.

If you got even 18 hours of sunlight, that's 10 holes an hour, or 6 minutes per hole... for a 3some?

I call bullshite.

Had wrist surgery 3 weeks ago, decided to give it a go this past Friday.

2 buckets on the range, 18 holes, 1 more bucket, 18 again.

I'm definitely sore

Physically and mentally exhausted and I'm not even close to a good golfer

54 at Webb in the summer 1960... Monthly junior pass was $3.00. Dad dropped me off in the morning. Wore banlon shirts that beaded up in the shoulder while carrying bag and stretched to wrists by the end of the day. Found balls in the rough. Shot my age 70 yesterday at Muny in Austin.Great memories....

I’m sure I knocked out 50 few times during summer break when I was a kid. Played 40 last year in one day for a practice round(s) before a Member-Guest tournament.

Have heard of a few clubs having a “Summer Solstice” tournament where all 72 holes are played in one day. Sounds fun in theory but I imagine that final round would be a struggle.
