Anyone have any input on them? Looking at selling my 12yr old Exmark and buying the Diablo model. The one Im looking at has a 35hp Kawasaki engine and a 60” cut. Top speed 14mph. I currently cut 5 acres and will probably buy 2-3 more acres next year. Any other brands I should look into?

If you can't mow with the Big Dogs, stay on the porch!

Damn. That’s a big motor and a fast machine.

Big Dog is the same as Hustler, but both are now owned by MTD/Stanley Black & Decker. Hustler has always been a great brand and popular. BD actually has a better warranty, but not quite as popular/known.

Other brands would be Bad Boy, Gravely, Dixie Chopper, or Scag. It appears you’re looking for high end commercial machines. Dixie Chopper is known for their speed and Scag is pretty top tier for commercial machines.

My dad has a Chopper, its fast but rough as hell. Plus the “mud grip” type tires seems to tear his yard up a bit.

Didnt think about Scag..... may give that a look

Just purchased a 60" Stout MP about a month ago to cut about 5 acres. Had one issue where the belt tensioning spring on top of the mower deck broke clean in half. Guy at the shop said he had only seen that a handful of times, and chalked it up to a faulty spring.

Other than that, I have had no issues. Very comfortable seat. Takes me about 2 hours to cut 4.7 acres.

I have the 60" Alpha MP. Bought in 2018 and have about 250 hours on it. Its a great mower and I highly recommend. Only issue is its a PITA to buy accessories and you have to order those through a dealer.

Im a Gravely guy, but this thread had me thinking. Who makes the smallest commercial ZTR with the largest engine.

I found that Spartan Mowers makes a 52" (maybe 54") with a 35hp Kawi. Its right at $10k and built like a tank. I have zero need for this, but want it.

Same thought process here.... do I need it? Not necessarily.... but I want it. Top speed of 14mph with a 60in deck can make quick work of a yard. Takes me alittle over 2 hrs to cut my yard now. Would def cut that down and give me more time to drink beer and yell at my kids.
