I've been in the house for a few months now but the yard was honestly the last thing on my mind. I'd like to start to get it cleaned up. It's mostly junk right now. Tons of burweed and other shite I have no clue what it is. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Post pictures. That could help decide to treat what you have and save the yard, or nuke errything and start over.

Your soil is neglected. Begin with making your soil healthy, and the weeds will go away. Microlife Ultimate every month.

How many different weeds can be spotted in one pick? Over/under at 5.

Definitely make the soil healthy. Looking at the fence posts, I don't think the concrete is supposed to be appearing out of the ground. I could be very wrong. Wouldn't hurt to get a truckload of fresh dirt and restart. Also would cover up the fence post cement. How much land are we talking about fixing up?

Others please chime in if I'm wrong about the fence post. It looks like dirt eroded, or someone did a shitty fencing job.

That's pretty bad. I don't even know where to begin with that. Maybe kill the weeds then fix your soil?

I’d just roundup that area and sod. I’m not even sure there’s grass there.

How big of a yard are you dealing with and what is your budget?

There comes a point where you would be far better off hitting it with roundup, improving the soil and laying new sod.

It’s not terribly big at all but that’s not a project I can get into right now. I mainly want to get rid of the freaking burr weeds so my kid doesn’t step on them all spring and summer.

Id put down some triple 13 at 8lbs per 1k sq ft and then hit with a broadleaf weed killer to see what I was really working with before i made any meaningful decisions. If you have some bermuda it can cover/make up alot of ground quickly

Unfortunately I believe those are winter time weeds that drop the sticker ball as they die off in the heat. Maybe one of the pros on here has something they could recommend though. Best of luck to you

That’s a doozy baw. Here’s a place to start with virtually no barrier to entry (requires water hose and $15).

Do you know your grass type? I’ll give you a serious reply. I see Bermuda but I don’t know if it just started growing or that’s your main grass.

Honestly ronk, I have no clue. I snapped a few more pics this evening. There’s some stuff that doesn’t look like weeds.

I have read that if you give the cement a convex effect from post to ground it will move water away and your post will last longer.

I'm not sure if true but I do it anyway...can't hurt.

They just poured dry concrete in the hole, around the post, and stuck a water hose in it.

Sorry I can't help with the grass.

Promising photo. You have bermuda and centipede. Do you have shade? Do you have a budget?
