And I believe his only offer out of there was Mizzou

He was a walk-on at Mizzou. Even they didn't offer him.

I notice Penrod waited until well after someone posted the kid's offer list and stats before he chimed in with his unflattering post.

I haven’t seen the kid play, so I have nothing to say about him, flattering or otherwise. I get pissed a little when people like you run down Maason Smith, a guy who played his heart out for LSU and is way better than you think.

Also, I’m of the opinion that if the coaches think he’s worth an offer than he’s worth an offer.

I'm not sure I've seen one person describe mason Smith as someone who played his heart out. He seemed very celebratory for basic plays. Few times he celebrated swim moves on goal line runs, as the rb walked into the end zone. He and burns were weird all yr with stuff like that. Last few games he definitely started looking healthier, and creating more havoc. All the mason Smith stuff is just disappoint from all of us He never produced remotely close to his hype/ potential. A full healthy sr yr probably would have.

If this juco kid ends up a take, hope he's a great find, and does well with the opportunity.

Now list the thousands upon thousands with such offer lists in just the last decade that didn't pan out. Lottery winners didn't expect to win. They are only a statistic because they did. The lottery always wins the long game. Same for the odds of this kid being anything close to the names on your list. And I'm for taking him. I don't expect an All American though.

If he chooses to be a LSU Tiger, he better be ready to play immediately.

Very very weak recruiting for DL over a couple of years but for the recent 2 LA players signing at home.
