No.

I suppose I'll be in the minority, but I'd rather keep Peter Parrish and whichever two of Johnson, Finley, and King we get this year. Because no way we keep or get three of these by taking another QB in Baldwin.

Wasn't there some story about Canada's recruitment of Baldwin?

Fields was the highest rated quarterback since Vince Young coming out of high school. How can they get it so wrong?

Footing tuition should not be a problem for him ( his family).

That tweet could be alluding to Arkansas also. Given Chad Morris coached at Lake Travis back in the day, that could be an option.

So admittedly never having seen this guy play, is he any good? Chance to be our starter two years from now?

I doubt he beats out Brennan. IMO this kind of transfer could cause more harm than good. Have to be REALLY careful, could lose a lot of QBs over him, and not sure he's that worth it.

Nothing against Baldwin but I would prefer to not upset the applecart.

Parish plus 2 out of King; Johnson; and Finley should be fine.

I want to see LSU recruit and develop our own qbs.

Just my .02

I can't see anything wrong with competition. None of us know which of those guys will adapt to the college game. Who wants a quarterback that is afraid of competition?
If you got it prove it. We had many of those under Miles who didn't have it, moved on, and still didn't succeed.

Burrow is a good example of a young man who wasn't afraid of competition. He worked his butt off staid confident in his abilities and earned the job.

I just dont think you understand the climate today. We take this guy, I guarantee we lose at least 2 QBs right away. Call it not wanting to compete, but only 1 QB goes on the field, and I dont blame them for transferring really.

Not to mention, you're talking about talking yet another transfer QB running away from a competition just like Burrow, which you yourself said why take a QB like that (it goes both ways you know...).

To me, talking Baldwin would be an indictment of Parrish straight up. He's probably immediately gone. If I'm Brennan, I already went through 1 transfer coming in, would I go through another? He could be gone too, not even counting the 2020 guys we have coming in.

I dunno, if Baldwin they feel like can be elite, do it, if they dont feel like he's much better than anyone else we have, I wouldn't do it. We got Burrow because we thought we didn't have a starting QB, and I agree with that decision. I think we got a starting QB beyond Burrow for 2020 and beyond, and personally wouldnt mess that up taking Baldwin.

I agree with your point about competition.

Not sure what you are trying to say with Burrow. He transfered out of OSU so who knows.

My main point is I want LSU to develop qbs.

Who says that Baldwin and Burrow both where or where not afraid of competition. They are the tranfers. So are you saying that a person that is transferring in is not afraid of competition but a qb that tranfers out is afraid of competition. I don't really agree with that. There are many reason for a qb to transfer into a program or out of a program and competition/playing time is only one potential reason.

I am not a qb guru.

Baldwin was a much more accomplished prep QB than Parrish or Finley. He had that ability to actually complete passes.

Like I said in a previous thread weeks ago, that I got hammered for, Brennan will never start a down at LSU. With the new transfer rules, we won’t have any problems getting top notch high school recruits that didn’t pan out at big time schools, because of ridiculous competition.
