Living in MS I was curiously looking at some of our star players. I found it odd that in 23 and so far 24 cycle LSU has no signees or commits(24 class). It’s not due to talent as there are some studs. We use to and should get more MS kids. Thoughts?

I did notice Oak Grove kid visiting this weekend. He is listed as 155 pound athlete so must be blazing.

Pulling a Mississippi kid is very difficult. It always has been.

Our history in MS is that we get kids that string us along only to pick someone else on NSD and usually OM or MSU. We have gotten a few but not many.

I'd imagine he's either a take or one of those borderline players. Could also be sizing him up on the visit or getting him to want to flip but not giving the green light unless necessary. Could be dependent upon Drelon Miller and what he does if Woodland projects as a WR or if he is a DB as some have said then maybe based upon Causey? Might not be dependent at all and they could end up with both, would think it would be only one or the other based upon how many we have.

Think he's a DB prospect for us. Seemed it was he and the TX kid(whose name I can't remember, still uncommitted I believe) as backup plans to Mack. The most interesting time of the cycle(sr evals/flips)is coming up so who knows how things stack up after it plays out. Variables everywhere for the next 2 months. Hopefully we end up a "winner" after this stretch.

I thought woodland was a safety

He has visited lsu a bunch.

Seems like they are keeping him on the back burner for a potential flip at the end.

Mississippi is hard to pull a kid from, just like Louisiana is. When Urban Myer was at UF he wouldn't even recruit Louisiana. He said he wasn't going to waste his resources here. It seems like our successful area is La., Tx, Fl. & Ga.

We have traditionally done well in coastal MS, it’s anywhere above that - that’s been up in the air.

We have been CONSTANTLY burned by MS kids in the past, whether they actually make it in here or just flip to some MS school at some point.

No idea why it's so hard to get them on board and get them to produce but its been that way for about as long as I can remember in recent times.

We dont have a scholarship kid on the roster from MS right now. The last ones we had were Raydar Jones who basically never played and was a high 4-star bust and Xavier Hill who transferred to Memphis after not playing much here for 3 years.

Alex Adams was from MS and transferred to a MAC school. There's the man the myth the legend Myles Brennan and then Deion "I dont do school" Smith who is at JUCO now.

Not even going to get into the kids we've fought so hard for in recruiting and either missed on or had flip on us.

Saahdiq Charles and Damien Lewis were the last guys from MS we had that did good things here and we got Lewis from JUCO and Charles was a Katrina kid from NOLA really.
