I was just looking up the players rankings using 247 composite and stunned to see Alabama falling off a cliff...comparisons below for 3 years. How many LSU and Alabama signed/commits for 2025 of top 50.

2023 Alabama 10 LSU 2
2024 Alabama 5 LSU 2
2025 Alabama 1 commit leads for 0 others LSU 3 with possible 2 others

Wow!!! We are finally going to see an Alabama team that hasn't been able to cherry pick their roster...and with the many transfers they have had, I don't think it is going to take even a couple of years to see the result.

Their coach is a terrible recruiter. Alabama will recruit itself but the days of them having the #1 class is over

It’s Texas that will take their place when they’re fully blooded into the SEC

You’re wrong here Cap. With NIL and the new SEC there will never be a Bama like dynasty. UGA, Texas, LSU, Bama will bd top dogs with others close behind

I don't believe this one bit

So far Ewers and Arch Manning are mid QBs. The QBs LSU has trumps what Texas is doing. I know 99% of most media outside LSU and probably 75% of local LSU media and fans can't see it, but LSU is about to take their rightful place. LSU has never had offense, which held them back for forever. This defensive problem is going to be fixed very shortly. If anybody takes Bama's spot, it'll be UGA/LSU.

Don't get me wrong. I can see Texas becoming really good, but they haven't faced a real SEC schedule yet, and I ain't talking about that BS sweet deal the SEC commish allowed them to have their first year in. Everybody knows that was some behind the scenes crap going on with that when you compare who they play and who Oklahoma plays. It's always about getting more SEC teams in the championship race.

The comparison of greater interest is probably Georgia atm.

Cap, I love ya, but having had the misfortune of being a follower of the old SWC and then the Big 12 as a Baylor fan ( LSU is and will always be my first love, but mt Dad went to BU….) I’ve gotten the chance to observe the T Sippers for 50 years and absolutely nothing has changed to lead me to see the Shorthorns of ever being capable of the sort of dominance the BAMA displayed under Saban.

Sure, Texas is the wealthiest athletic department in college sports by a lot, but despite their massive wealth, it’s the consistent arrogance that the administration and alumni have always displayed without the hardware and championships to nearly justify the way that they operate.

Honestly, Sark got really lucky in 2023 because they beat a lack luster Alabama before their team had a chance to jell and the avoided UGA entirely. Once they trade playing Baylor, Iowa State, TCU and Kansas for a healthy diet including Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, A&M, State & Oklahoma, I just don’t see them as coming out nearly as well. They have never even been willing, as a program, to play a, week in and week out, schedule nearly as brutal as they are about to face. (These are the same snowflakes that force the Big 12 to make the horns down sign an unsportsmanlike penalty!)

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think Spurier was right when he said that Texas does seem to appreciate the shear brutality of the SEC schedule. Yeah, they’ve always played OU and a coupe of other respectable teams each year, but when your schedule requires you to play teams, in almost every conference game, that leave you more banged up in each successive game, it’s not the same.

Personally, I’m really looking for to their first Saturday Night in Death Valley!

I could be wrong, but I think Ewers is going to end up being a lot better than “mid” this season.

If we’re being honest here, Florida, A&M, and State are non factors and bottom tier football programs at the moment. They collectively may win 10 games. Georgia is the obvious toughest. Sooners still have a big question mark.

Sec will be a dog fight for #1 though. Uga is solidified 1 at the moment. Texas and LSU will be coming for the throne. Ole miss will be sneaky but never be elite imo.

Do people really think Texas will be dominant in the SEC when they couldn’t in the Big 12? Lol

Dominate like Bama has the past 15, no. But they will be at the top.

They have a damn good coach

They will get SEC players that didn’t want to play in B12

We are in the NIL world.

It’s not 2014

They will buy quality recruits, but I think the days of 1 program dominating the recruiting cycle are over!

I didn’t mean like they’re going be a Bama dynasty but they’ll be the new thorn in the side like Bama

No they won't. Yall are so scared of Texas and A&M's money yet we've recruited just as good as them the last few years and look like will blow both away in 25 class

But that comparison stops at recruiting because Kirby Shart is still a TERRIBLE game day coach who makes the dumbest decisions on the field. He is what will hold Georgia back from actually having a dynasty like Bama had with Saban.

This. LSU, like UGA, will always hold a huge advantage in that we are the only big SEC program in a talent ridden state. Alabama has to compete with Auburn and Texas has to compete with A&M. Florida with FSU and so on

IMO, Oklahoma is lot more interesting than Texas. I think we all know if Texas has a decent coaching staff/evaluations, etc, Texas is going to be good every year. Even though Oklahoma is recruiting well so far this 2025 class, I am going to see if they stay really good as they were in the Big 12 year in and year out or are they going to be the new Arkansas. Arkansas the last 20 years has made the SEC CG game 1 time. Alabama has done it many times, LSU several times, Auburn multiple times.

Glad you clarified your original response statement which seemed to certainly imply they were going to be the next Alabama/dynasty. No way do I believe that and you just said in the quoted post you don't believe that either.
