Anyone notice Griffin Herring’s Paul Skenes hand gesture last night?

Whenever he’d strike a batter out, he’d throw up his hand like,” get out of here” similar to what Skenes used to do last year after strike outs.
It’s not as demonstrative as Skenes gesture was, but it’s still a little funny.

Thatcher does it, but it seems like a frustrated gesture when he gets a K to end a 3 run inning.

If going schizo translates to outs, he can talk to himself all he wants.

I could be wrong, but I think that started during the pre-season scrimmages when Paul noticed Ty Floyd subconsciously doing it. Started off as a joke, but eventually stuck.

You're correct. It was either Floyd or Hurd doing it initially.

I'm cool with pitchers celebrating as long as they're not getting shelled. Herring is earning some celebrating, for sure.

Looks like catcher had a short conversation with ump, any ideas what it was about?

I noticed it last night. That was the last out of the game, Neal shook his hand and probably said good game blue (we got a lot of close strike calls that may have been off the edge of the plate while Holman was pitching)

Herring was doing that last year too. I love his expressions on the mound. Favorite player on the team

From an interview I watched last season, Skenes said he got it from Hurd doing it last fall and then a few other guys started doing it as well

The ump was signaling the ball was tipped. I assume he was simply showing him he had the ball in his mitt

Herring may be my favorite player on this team. Dude’s got to right mindset.
