now it looks like they're picking the #18's to spite a certain section of our fanbase

congrats to him, sure he will do 18 proud! Does anyone have a full list of 18's since Mauck?

Doesn't it go Mauck, Hester, Dickson, Murphy, Taylor, Logan?

Michigan used to do it with #1 for the best receiver on the team.

Bennie has played some great football for the Tigers and he wasn't anywhere near the highest rated recruit coming out of high school.

Congrats to him on being chosen to wear #18!

Maybe the previous poster meant to say he thought it went to a senior, and I also thought they usually tried to do that!

It’s a trick and part of the secret playbook. Watch for Les to use Bennie as an eligible receiver.

I had no idea who would get it this year, and didn't know alot about Logan.

The fact that he's getting to wear #18 though tells me alot about him.

I really like this #18 tradition deal.

Bennie would seem to deserve the honor, but I thought linemen were restricted to only certain numbers. Or is that just in the NFL? (Must be since Ego is wearing #9.) Are there any rules at all regarding the numbers college players at different positions may wear?
