I'm glad he made it to campus. I have to think its more enjoyable to hang out at LSU and develop for a few years than being in the minors. The money will still be there if you put the work in.

Add in the fact that two LSU tigers just went top 3 in MLB draft doesnt hurt either.

One of the weirdest things about this board is the general obsession with the sex lives of the athletes.
That's because the Major Majority of the Board doesn't have a sex life.

I think you’d have still met your girl padnuh.

No pics of my half-Russian wife. I would have gone to Siberia just to meet her.

He’s very fortunate to have a guy like his advisor that he can lean on. I’m sure he realized that he has a left handed pitcher that is probably going to be touching 100 by the time he declares in college which is why they hold all the cards. He wasn’t worried about getting the number out of high school, he knows he has a potential #1 pick on his hands in a couple years and what he will get is going to dwarf whatever low ball, late first round offer he’d have gotten right away.

great kid from a great family

We wanted him to have a fallback and have other interests and other things as part of his life," Johnson's father said. "We said, 'You know, you may meet your wife at LSU or some of your best friends are going to be from college.' "

That's a kid, and family, that will be exceedingly easy to root for!

The other risk is that he gets hurt. Well, he can get hurt in minor league ball. So the benefits that we would achieve by going to college significantly outweighed any risk of signing a pro contract below value."

Love this quote from his dad.
