Bama just hired some random guy with zero SEC experience. He achieved success in a weak and boring Pac12 conference that doesn't even exist anymore. This is gonna be fun for LSU fans! Brian Kelly is salivating over this hire. Excellent!!

Oh, and he's also coached at Sioux Falls don't forget!!

I am surprised with this hire. Based on his record at Pac 12? Must be Saban's recommendation to keep his legacy intact. He, Jimbo, and Norvel had a good season because of of their Heisman caliber QBs, after that nothing.

Can you imagine the culture shock of moving to Alabama. I give him two years.

Didn't Kelly have zero SEC experience?

And Kelly coached at Grand Valley State.

I don't understand the point you're trying to make...

He is not some random guy. His resume is short but well accomplished in short time. He has 3 NAIA championships. He took Washington from a loser to a winner in one season and to the CFP final in two...

I did not see anything that scared me with this hire but he is a up and comer.

Like they did with Gene Stallings in 1990.
Or LSU did with Saban in 2000?
Or UF did Urban Meyer in 2005?

Stallings wasn’t a random guy. He was a Bear guy and that used to be all they cared about.

They man has proven every step of the way that he can coach. I will be interested in seeing how he does, but I am not celebrating this as a win for LSU. I will especially be interested in how he recruits over the next 3 years, that would concern me the most if I am Bama.

Here is my big question for everyone. If Alabama's recruiting well, does it really help us or Georgia more. Its definitely going to help Auburn the most, but I really see Kirby getting the advantage from this.

The guy just played for a National Championship. In getting there he defeated a (soon to be) SEC program (Texas). He took over a good program in Washington in 2022 that had started to regress. He then went 25-3 (including a 21 game winning streak) and played for a National Championship in year 2. Prior to that he was solid at Fresno St. and was a multi-time national championship winning HC at a lower level. Simply put, he's won everywhere he's been.

Will he be as dominant as Saban? Unlikely. But you could say that about ANY HC Alabama could have hired outside of Kirby Smart. Hell, Deboer's teams have played in as many national championship game as Brian Kelly's. And Kelly was at one of the most prestigious programs in the history of college football for a decade.

Who knows how he will perform at Alabama...but I wouldn't be throwing stones just yet. Particularly after LSU's current HC completely wasted the second best offense in school history led by a Heisman Trophy winning QB

The cope is out of control

I hope it doesn’t work out but I can’t deny that Bama made a great hire. Wish they would have pulled in Dabo so we could really run their shite.

He is a good coach, a players coach and runs a good system. Doesn’t matter who they hired. LSU is on fire
