How can there possibly be so many downvotes?

The women and men don’t even use the same ball. The ball is N inch smaller than the men’s and 2 ounces lighter which helps.
Clark is a great player. If Pete had a daughter she’d look like Caitlin, but the two aren’t playing the same game against the same opponents.

You cannot break any records of different sports. Men and women have their own sports and records. Ignore this bullshite. Caitlin Clark is a female Pete Maravich but they are two different records.

Pistol Pete zero air time?
Pistol Pete some air time?
As long as it’s positive (and this is), I’ll take ‘some’…
We and they all know the two sports are different. It’s just for conversation and a reference point.

Relax, barely anyone cares about women’s sports anyway.

It’s very simple. Maravich’s record will NEVER be broken because it was done in 3yr with NO 3 point line. Any record set should have an asterisk next to it. Now if a player is given 2 pts for his 3’s and does it in 3 years then yeah. Record broken. Schmucks.

Geno will become second women coach to pass coach k
It’s laughable at this point

Uh. For starters. What is a woman? According to a Supreme Court Justice she doesn’t even know. She’s not a biologist.

It doesn't matter if she breaks the record. Pistol Pete will always be remembered for being one of the greatest shooters of all time and most fans didn't even know he held the record. His stats speak for themselves.
With that being said, the girl can shoot lights out. Like Pistol Pete, Clark will go down as one of the greats of all-time in women's basketball, regardless of record or not!

Around the Horn just said Caitlin Clark is breaking Pistol Pete’s record.
I’m not sure what’s so hard about understanding that the men’s and women’s games are completely separate sports and that the records stand separately.
Pistol Pete did not have a three point line or any of the easy things about the women’s game working to his advantage. Also, he played against men which trumps anything women’s basketball players can do
DEI requires ahistorical obfuscation and misrepresentation.

She ought to be investigated for tanking vs Nebraska to get the record at home

Except men’s sports are actually sports and women well who cares? Most quit once they get boobs.
She couldn’t shoot a men’s ball past the free throw line probably

How will ESPN spin this?
Pearl Moore: Her career points total — 4,061 — still stands as the overall record in women's hoops and is unlikely to fall this season even if Clark and the Hawkeyes make another deep NCAA Tournament run. AP News

Womens and mens game should not be compared. If they were she would have to add only the 2 pt shots made in 83 games. Take away her freshman year and make her 3 pt shots count as 2 points. In 83 games would she surpass it. I don't think so.
