Maybe it was an actual possibility more than a rumor? You guys laugh, but this is something that’s been reported by the guys behind pay walls. Raymond couldn’t guarantee to the Surtain family that he was here to stay.

Not just that he was leaving but where he leaving to go to.

It’s very possible that Raymond was considering leaving LSU. In that case, it’s not Bama negatively recruiting LSU that cost us Surtain. In that case it would be on Raymond for not being fully invested and/or on Orgeron for not controlling the narrative.

I'm not sure if Raymond was open to bringing on a safety's coach at first.
Especially one who had quite a bit of experience working with Aranda. If Aranda were to leave Busch will most likely be the next DC at LSU.
