Do they work on eyesight there?

I know he's throwing against air, but that was a deep ball that hit the receiver in stride.

If he can do that consistently in game, we're going to the playoffs.

Easy to see receiver downfield with no pressure

Do that consistently against SEC competition and I will be impressed

He’s working on his footwork there. The pass is inconsequential. Change of direction and still sets his feet to throw vs scramble. It’s not a normal drop back.

The only “controversy” is that we’re blessed with 2 QBs that could lead us to a championship

We have two really good quarterbacks with very different skill sets that put pressure on the defense in different ways. Anyone that doesn't think that BK is going to use both over the course of the season is deluding themselves. Hopefully, both show improvement by the start of the season.

When JD is on, we efficiently march up and down the field, and those are long drives that wear down defenses. When he's on, BK is going to let him ride. When JD is off, the offense stagnates. When that happens, I think BK is going to be much quicker to turn to Nuss this season.

When Nuss is on, he's deadly with the deep ball. Safeties have to stay back and that opens up the run and underneath routes. Of course when Nuss is off, he tries to force things and throws interceptions.

Let's just hope we don't have a game where both are having bad days at the same time.

You’re so wrong about all of that. JD, unfortunately, is going to be the only option unless he gets hurt. BK isn’t going to run a 2 QB system. And I don’t think Nuss id disciplined enough to fit into BK’s system at all unless JD gets hurt.

They are both liabilities. One is a bad QB, the other is a reckless QB. 2023 will be 9-3 if we’re lucky with JD at the helm. But, 2024 will be special.

THIS sums it up. I mentioned this a time or two last year. This will really make the DCs lose sleep at night as they are prepping for 2 very unique offenses...

You’re fricking delusional. Without Daniels LSU goes 7-5 at best.

Exactly. If Nussmeier started and was the qb vs. Bama, we lose that game by at least twenty.

I’m done shitting on JD I’ve said my peace. most of that being the A&M fumble and how it costly it was.

I like what Nuss showed and hope he doesn’t transfer, but I’m eager to see if JD can improve his decision making after another full offseason.
Just needs to trust his receivers and pull the trigger. If he can put it together his ceiling is hard to top

He’s way too careless with the ball. I don’t give a shite how many big plays he makes. For every big play there’s a turnover.

Why you're getting downvoted for saying this is beyond me. It's 100% true.

He’s getting downvoted because everyone knows this. Of course there is no pass rush or defenders.

But the point of the OP was he’s working to improve. Will it be good enough?

Probably not. Fans just want us to win every game and look good doing it. And for the quarterback to play perfect. That’s all.

JD struggled late in the year once teams began rushing 3,dropping 6, and putting a spy on each side of the line. A single spy in the middle never worked against JD. He was too fast and could get to the corner, either way he decided to run. A spy on each end of the line took away the edges, and most of his scrambles were up the middle, which did very little.

Then the 6 backs in zone coverage froze him up, because that’s where he’s least comfortable. He holds when he has to throw into traffic. Arky was the first to do it, and it kind of gave a blueprint. You take away his best strength, which is running to the edge and turning up field. And you also take advantage of his biggest mental block, and that is throwing down the field into traffic.

If he can retrain his mind to throw with anticipation, and on time, he could be unstoppable. There’s a blueprint out there now on how to shut him down, so he will have to one up that strategy or we will see it effectively used in the first game against Florida State.

I don't think anyone expects Daniels to be perfect, but they do want to see improvement in the passing game. He obviously looks good in practice, but when it's game time he tends to revert back to his run first mentality. He looked all-world in 4 games last season and anywhere from serviceable to just plain bad in the other 10.

Texas 4&8 loss

Are you talking about the game that saw our defense allow a 70% conversion rate on third and fourth down?

Our O gained almost 400 yards and Daniels accounted for 270 yards of total O.

Some of these complaining about a quarterback who accounted for 3800 yards of total O, 28 total touchdowns, completed almost 70% of his passes, played a major role in beating Bama and winning the west is just ridiculous and only serves to demonstrate the lack of understanding about college football that some people possess.

Kidding aside, I actually wondered last year about his vision. Numerous athletes including NFL QBs have had successful LASIK surgery to improve their vision.
