Akron will be a good test, they look like they have some experience and two pretty good players.

They don't have too much size though so hopefully we have unlocked KJ and he can continue to ball out. (Also Miller in a slight funk would like to see him get out of it)

Don’t know anything about Akron but they seem to be a step up in competition from Illinois state . Tigers are just a 4.5 point favorite today

Watched Kansas State last night. They are by far the toughest team in the tourney.

I don't think Rhode Island is very good, and K-State hasn't played a very tough schedule, at all, but their defense has been really good. They are likely who LSU would face if the Tigers can win today.

4 games into the season LSU has been solid defensively (top 35 in unadjusted defensive efficiency). Much of that has to do with the fact LSU is turning teams over on 25% of their opponent's possessions (just outside the top 20 in that stat). Hopefully that continues.

Unfortunately, LSU's turnover issues are killing their own offensive efficiency. LSU has been really bad at taking care of the ball in the first four games (currently ranked 256 in turnovers per possession). You could tell McMahon was furious over the second half yesterday. LSU plays far and away their best half of basketball in the first half. Then, as McMahon stated in the post game, it looked like LSU had never thrown a pass before in the second half.

Outside of forcing turnovers, LSU hasn't done anything exceptionally well thus far in the early season. But they really haven't done anything poorly either except turning the ball over. The biggest point of emphasis for today's game has to be valuing the basketball. If LSU can just do that I think they can be tough to beat because they carved up ISU inside yesterday. On that note, I wouldn't be surprised if Akron plays a good bit of zone today.
