No chemistry on offense. Just look totally out of sync.

You can thank Baker. He has personally screwed this whole 2nd half.

Did you quit watching before they had to bench Cook? He was a black hole on offense

They’ve played better without him. Ward getting hurt and Baker giving it to the other team are the biggest problems

We beat SC and UK without Cook. He helped when he first got into the lineup because we were really bad on offense then, but we've gotten better since then.

This team misses Cook even with his faults. There are times he can penetrate the lane or hit some big 3’s but more than anything he gives Hannibal time to rest. He is getting worn down and it shows. Dude played 18.5 minutes in first half and probably same in second half. His defense may be weak and he forces some shots but 15ppg is sorely missed.

We could use him off the bench but he's not taking Hannibal's spot.

Agree but this team is weaker without Cook. That is a fact.

We really need to find an identity. I know he trusts Wright and he’s a good player but when they initiate offense with him in that 5 out, high ball screen set he has a lot of awful possessions. Ward is actually the better option if that’s the set McMahon wants to run and it seems to be since he’s done it with both Wright and Cook in gotta have it situations. Ward never turns it over, has better vision and is a better passer than Wright. You could also start with Hannibal in your pick n roll then reverse it back to Wright or Ward off the play side action. Wright is very good with that. Right now we’re not executing near well enough in those situations and of all our issues it’s the easiest one to fix.

Teams pretty much know Wright is the option in last 10 seconds. He has been great, but he could dish to Ward or Reed for an open layup at this point. Other team totally collapses on Wright now.

Yep and it’s not like he’s incapable right there but he’s dribbling the air out of the ball and not moving it when it isn’t there for him. Like you said, it’s clear to see that defenses are focusing on him so when he’s got nothing just move the ball early and work for a good shot.

This is way more important than people realize, I think. Among other things, it solidifies personnel decisions when two players are on about the same level but have different strengths.

I’m not sure what McMahons optimum identity would be. I’m also not sure if the lack of identity is related to the types of players we have and whether they mesh to form a notable identity.

I may be in the minority but I don’t think the lack of identity is mainly coaching.

Cook had some bad showings but the fact of the matter is that other teams have to respect his abilities. And him being in the floor really opened it up for when he first started playing. Cook being on the floor does seem to steal a little from wards productivity though. Hannibal shooting 18 times is never something you want. Of cook is healthy it’s at least a closer game last week.

Completely wrong statement. Cooks biggest asset was late game/clock isolations . Wright has taken that roll and isn’t as effective. Hannibal moved the ball around much better than Cook. Staff very upset w Cook camp right now.

This is not an attack just factual but some of it is based not knowing what we really are as a unit which prevents us from dictating to opponents. This is why when we play a Bama we’re trying to run with em. We play USC and we can’t speed them up. Now that we’ve finally got the right people playing where they should be it’s gotten better but it’s very late in the year so we’re still looking for who should have the ball in what set when the game is on the line.

I agree with this. I think a large part of finding a team’s identity is fit. I think we have decent enough players to be a competitive middle of the pack SEC team, but I think our fit is extremely poor.

Frontcourt heavy roster, not a lot of shooting, etc. We’re good enough on defense imo but our offensive struggles come from a lack of fit. I think that plays into the fact that many of us find McMahon’s rotations highly questionable.

People bring up Missouri from last year a lot. I don’t think that roster was particularly talented, but I do think they were very skilled and had great fit. Those guys could shoot the hell out of the ball.
