Ok so normally I come in on River Road from downtown and park in one of the free lots off of River Road. But, it looks like I will be sent in the wrong direction after the game now. I have noticed in the past that some people park along River Road, on the side opposite the levee. I assume this is legal and I might try that this year. Looks like I could park along River Road near the Vet School pointing in the right direction. Please advise me if this will not work.

I've also seen people suggest U-high or the Law Center. I've never tried those lots. For an 11am game, how early would one need to get there to park in one of these lots?

Thanks for any help or advice!

Also, has anyone tried the Waze app that LSU is recommending for parking?

Probably no later than around 8:30 for the Law Center.

Get there really early, like 5am and park on W. Chimes Street, it's free. Walk over to Louie's for breakfast and mimosa's while you wait for game time. And when the game is over head to Dalrymplce Dr. and you'll be on I-10 in less than 10 mins. An old timer turned me on to this some years back.

I would suggest 6:00 am or earlier otherwise those will all be gone.

Thank you for the advice. That's a little earlier than I want. Appreciate it though!

I was in the free lot at 3:30p this past saturday and when I left i could go north or south on river road. Havent been to a game in a while so i was surprised they block off all surface streets i used to cut over to i-110(i.e Aster, Oklahoma etc) and make everyone go all the way to gubmint!

You don't have to get there as early as he said. You also don't have to park ON Chimes St.

In that general area, if you turn by the Burger King and go towards where Kirby Smith used to be (near the band facility) you should be able to park there pretty easily at 8-8:30 AM. Getting out will be just as easy as he explained.

So get there 7 hrs early not to wait an hour to leave?

Yeah I get that, but I used to park at Alex Box with a permit and have been stuck there for hours after a game depending on the opponent. Miserable if after a long day...Eff that shite. 11am is just such and early game.

I was picking. Hell, when I’m ready to leave I don’t like waiting either.

There was always parking lots right there, even when Kirby was there.

Do you recommend getting there between 8 and 8:30 as well?

I haven’t been to Tiger Stadium since 2014, so I bit the bullet and paid for parking in Section 408 near Alex Box.

My wife and I check it every game and laugh at how wrong it is. It’s a joke especially on river road. Will try and take you also sorts of wrong ways.

And you'll be on here complaining about traffic after the game.

Seriously, get there early and park next to the exit. Otherwise, prepare to sit in 408 for at least an hour afterwards.
