Did we really have no other facilities for practice before he came? Where did they practice? No indoor facilities prior to saban?

I think they practiced in "The Field House".

I'm sorry the facts upset you. I'm sorry that the facts don't match your shibboleth. But you don't get to choose the facts. They are what they are.

quote:

“Saban can’t force an administrations hand”
If you watched the video, you just heard Saban say TWICE that he was TOLD about the plans for the football facilities. He was TOLD the plans. He was TOLD the plans when he was hired.

quote:

“Why didn’t he do that at Michigan state then”

Maybe MSU preferred to be cheap. Maybe that why they can’t win anything
You're exactly right.

And that is exactly the problem LSU had before Mark Emmert showed up. Emmert saw what happened with DiNardo. Emmert had plans to create a Flagship university. Emmert knew he had to invest money in the football program. Emmert knew he had to spend money on coaches salaries and facilities. Emmert had a plan. Saban was part of the plan. The academic center was part of the plan. The football ops center was part of the plan.

LSU, after Emmert arrived, preferred to be NOT cheap. That's a big reason why LSU has a strong football program.

Thanks Skip!
Alabama had no problem telling their coach to hit the road- but not you- and that was the worst decision by any director in the history of sports.

The original Mulkey

Mulkey already had the gravitas when she arrived.

I KNOW this will start a pissing match, but honestly Will Wade reminded me a lot of the LSU version of Saban. A solid coach before arriving at LSU, but one who was demanding from the moment he stepped on campus.

Now that he is retired you are going to see much of the hate from LSU fans start to melt away and acknowledge that he was a big part in what has become the best era of LSU football in school history.

Comparing 2006 Mike Shula at Alabama to 2006 Les Miles at LSU is pretty hilarious.

Great laugh to start the day.

Saban was a helluva coach.

Like any good coach, he focused on process.

Saban, however, made process his trademark.

Before then, they had to bus the players from Tiger Stadium to the practice fields and/or indoor field every day, and then back.

Also the crappy little weight room was inside of Tiger Stadium.

If you tried to bottle Saban down to one sound bite it would be that rant at 3:30 about needing to work to improve even after wins and the process. That’s what made him so good.

The PMAC was renovated in 2009. The PMAC Saban is talking about isn't the same PMAC today. The PMAC needs to be replaced but the PMAC Saban was talking about was a shithole that ended up being improved.

So strange and surreal to revisit. It’s like watching a bad “sports divorce”. Both parties went into it with the hopes of being together “forever”. There were up and downs and some magical times and memories that no one can take away. Yall have a kid. Suddenly, the grass became greener for one spouse and they departed. Leaving the other heartbroken and empty. The one that left realized they had it great and made a mistake. Said spouse then marries that hot douchebag from high school and marries him. They have 6 kids, country club house, boats, cars, rv’s, jet skis. You move on to a transition girl. She’s “nice”. Yall have a kid. You go in some trips, but their vacations are just a little bit nicer than yours. Inevitably, age becomes a factor and NIL, portal (fake tits and Botox) become available to and younger, hotter people are threatening.
