You never know. Josh Booty was second team All-SEC as a senior

I’m with you. I hope he is getting good coaching and getting better.
I, for one, think Ryan has the physical tools it take to succeed in the SEC. I’m hoping he puts it together this year.

Dude, it is wild you would make a post sticking up for 2 guys that have been given every opportunity imaginable and still can’t cut it.

Stop getting emotionally attached to players.

These guys are 20, 21, 22 year old young men playing a sport that generates MILLIONS in revenue. They, themselves, now are earning (at least) 5-figures simply for playing football. They aren't 6 years old learning how to play baseball in little league in front of mom, dad, and grandma. So spare us the absurdity they should be above criticism because they are just "innocent children".

To that end, Ryan's performance at LSU hasn't been noteworthy. So I guess you can believe whatever the coaches SAY or you can believe what your eyes tell you. Which have been mostly scenes like this....

Blown coverage in Spring game

or this...

Did yall not read the practice reports that Kelly was raving about sage Ryan and major burns

Yeah I’ve heard. I also listened to Jay Johnson talk about how deep our pitching staff was all offseason. If you go listen to the Vanderbilt football coach’s PC, he’ll probably say good things about their players too.

Breaking news: coaches talk their players up during the offseason.

I think players do improve

It’s the bozos on here that don’t believe players can improve

Damone Clark is a great example and I’m sure they are others

Hey coaches have to get fans to buy in just as much as the media. In the Spring game they definitely didn't look like they needed to. Even if it's because of tendencies created by House...next guy if they aren't fixed

The problem I haven’t isn’t so much that people have their doubts about Burns and Ryan. It’s that they are wringing their hands over players transferring out who didn’t show enough to displace them on the depth chart.

So we're running the Les Miles offense?

What you don’t understand is that so do we.

This. Most people don't want them to suck because that means the defense will likely suck again. It is in everyone's best interest for them to be good, but their history doesn't support that.

It’s certainly true that Ryan has missed plenty of tackles, and his pass coverage needs to improve.

But I thought he was considered a better safety than corner prospect. Hopefully his play improves next fall, along with Burns. That’s why the team has spring and fall workouts.

Let’s be honest, he was successful because of Jimbo.
And Jimbo parlayed success with head-case Booty to get better coaching opportunities.

These are not kids. They're seniors who are getting paid to play football.

And they're not holding up their end of the contract.
