I get Larson doesn’t scream prototype leadoff hitter, but Jay has had Tanks and Jones at leadoff this year when he was trying to figure this lineup out. If he wants to keep Braswell at the bottom to avoid having a black hole in the bottom of the lineup, then fine. Move Larson up. We need guys who can get on base consistently and when the bottom actually gets on base and flips the lineup we have faith the leadoff won’t be an automatic out stranding runners on base.

I’d go:

Brasswell
Larson
White
Jones
Pearson
Travinski
Milam
Bingham
Milazzo

That's as good of a line up as we can get, obviously better than yesterday's

Yeah if Kling doesn’t go 0-6, they would have lost both of those games. Can’t argue with those numbers.

It's why this team hits so many solo home runs, Kling and Bingham have not been the table setters that would allow this lineup to succeed.

Luckily Larson has exploded recently which has helped but they still need 1-2 more.

Kling BA is bad. But his OBP is .403 which is higher than Bingham, Milam, Neal, and Pearson. If you are just looking at SEC games, the order of those same guys is: Pearson, Kling, Bingham, Milam, Neal

In other words, neither Milam or Bingham is the answer.

I’m not advocating Kling to be the lead off but he needs to be in the lineup. It’s sad that we can’t have 3 outfielders that can hit consistently but here we are.

Check out the other thread on SEC batting averages. Moving Milam might not be the answer you are hoping for. This team is not a good hitting team in general. Larson is the only real bright spot.

The lead off hitter should be someone that can get on base. Here is a list of starters that have a better On Base % than Milam

Larson
Braswell
Milazzo
Jones
Travinski
White
Pearson
Kling
Bingham

Milam is only ahead of Neal. I love Milam. But he is not the guy to be at lead off right now.

Kling led off against the rent-a-wins at the beginning of the season. Talk about manipulating stats!

It seems like we were loaded in the outfield to start the season. Right now we have one solid outfielder, Larson.

Sunday the top 5 in the lineup went 2-19. Can hardly win a game when this happens.

Hoping they will do better on Friday. Need to shock the Aggies and us fans by winning.

The logjam was real. Needed to give Zeb a shot. I'm most disappointed not even getting Mitchell an opportunity for development this entire season

Auburn has the 13th best ERA in conference games. Their pitchers have given up the most homers, their batting average allowed is the worst (331), and they have given up over 8 runs a game.

At home against this anemic staff we only scored 13 runs and we only hit 273 for the weekend.

They really do not have any pro typical leadoff hitters on this team.

Braswell at this point maybe should get a look. At what point do they take him seriously & move him up
