While LSU baseball is my favorite sport and I follow it more than 90% of you on this board I don't think people realize how damn good the league will be this year. I love the passion and excitement but damnit we are going to lose 10-15 games this year no matter how good you think we are going to be. The league is too stacked. I know in paper we are the preseason favorites but baseball is different. I think this team will be incredible but anyone thinking we roll straight to Omaha without some serious bumps along the way are just not realistic about much of anything. I will be disappointed if they don't get to Omaha this year more than most years. I had to post this bc I see way too many unrealistic expectations for this team.

I don’t need this kind of negativity in my life

other than sounding like a douche, you’re saying we win 73-82% at best?

Please, keep trying to temper expectations for the lsu baseball program that is preseason ranked #1

LSU will be undefeated but it will still be boring on radio and TV.

Baseball is a different and I think lots on here are trolls…
But if LSU gets to Hoover with 10 losses it will be a damn strong season.
People thinking we will go undefeated are retards

OK Negatiger - There are no ebbs and flows in baseball that could impact this squad.
Seriously though, it would be really fun for the guys to hit that 30 or so game mark and have under 10 losses. Anything can happen after that.

I agree 100 ^. I’m all in on this years team, but baseball is a funny game. More than all other sports, the best team doesn’t always win. A lot of good fortune is required to make a run. I love this roster. Now let’s get results!!!

I’m pretty sure we are hitting > 188 home runs this season.

Please tell me this isn't a real thing.
A couple of guarantees...when, and yes WHEN, LSU loses a weekend series this season, more than a handful of idiots on this board will call for Jay Johnson to be fired. If LSU takes a while to find it's groove (hopefully they DO indeed find a groove), i.e...loses a few weekday games and/or a weekend series, the same brainless idiots will call for JJ to be $hitcanned. In all seriousness, I truly hope the expectations set forth by the same aforementioned morons aren't as ridiculous as even the mention of going undefeated. Think about this tho...Oregon State only lost 4 games in '17 before LSU sent their asses packing from Omaha. Games still need to be played and won.

There’s no reason to temper expectations either. It may not be the 90s anymore but a top program like LSU is expected to make it to Omaha at least every few seasons. We’re #1 in the country. It’s pretty damn fair to expect this team to challenge for the SEC crown and compete for a national title this year.
