Whether random people take offense to something is irrelevant.

They would also take offense if I called them idiots, which is also not racist.

But you are missing the whole point and are hung up on one word.

You’d have to posses education to educate people and you posses none. Like I said ignorant useful idiot and probably a self loathing racist projecting on to others to ease your own guilt. Only sheltered people like you have such a low opinion of people and believe they all share a monolithic hive mentality.

LOL. C'mon, you again. Not "random people", I said "random black people".

Everybody (white, asian, etc.) would take offense if you called them an idiot.

Everybody would NOT take offense if you called them the n-word. Given that this is a racist term for blacks.

It's simple. BTW, how did that social experiment go?

This is coming from the guy that called me the "dummest" and believes it's ok for white people to call black people the n-word.

But I'm the sheltered uneducated racist? LOL.

I don’t “believe” anything I watched it for 4 years as opposed to your scientific experiments which resulted in “if” as your proof. You’re a delusional child who hasn’t enforced a single statement he’s made in this entire thread with a shred of evidence or fact. Lmfao fricking moron.

This is what believe means dumbass.

Either go speak your truth to an actual black person or STFU.

Someone should tell the players that there are plenty of racial bigots of all stripes at LSU and it is a free fricking country. The little racist dude doesn’t matter and they would do well to realize that moaning only makes ppl like that want to troll more.

The issue, which you can’t seem to grasp, is that context matters.

No, it’s not OK to call someone the N word as a pejorative. I never said it did. But the word itself can be used in a nonracist manner.

“I hate when people say the word n!gger”

“The reason he was mad is because someone called him a n!gger”

These are examples. The word can be used in an academic or reference purpose, or to accurately relay what another person said.

It can also be said in reference to musical lyrics, or when speaking lines from a script.

STOP. You're trying to build up all of these strawman scenarios.

Under no circumstances is it ok for you as a white person to refer to a black person as the n-word, even as you illustrated in your examples. You can't say I hate when people say the n-word and then use the n-word. You would sound racist and stupid.

Just say the n-word, people will know what you are talking about.

It's not difficult.

You've never seen American History X have you? White people in that movie use that word quite often and the black actors seemed to be ok with it.

You said "under no circumstances."

Thought I could lighten the mood a bit.

Never said you couldn't say it, just said you're a racist if you do.

Nobody thinks its racist, but nobody wants to go say it in front of black people.

It's not an absolute thing. I've seen white people use it with their black friends before. For the most part you're right, especially just going up to random people and saying it, but it doesn't apply to every single situation.

I just said the word was racist. Is it socially acceptable to say the n-word? The answer is no.
