I have a feeling the SEC is gonna have a tough time not allowing SEC to SEC transfers in the second portal

This could cause some real issues between SEC teams and membership

That’s what I’m saying teams can do now. Like for Khai Prean. Tell him to transfer to a small school, start, improve and have the chance to come back when you’re better.

And then play him ahead of players who were loyal to the team, stayed and improved themselves instead of chasing a bag at another program? LSU recruits 4 and 5 star players all of whom are capable of starting after a year in the program. Many of these kids are early enrollees too. The 2 best examples are the 2 tackles that started ahead of Heard. Kevin Mawae redshirted then was a freshman All-American at tackle as a RS-Freshman. As a sophomore he played LT, LG AND C making All-SEC. Give me players like that - not players who want to handpick their position and jump into the portal when it isn’t handed to them.

OL room is looking great and trending even better. F him, he made his choice. Have fun blocking for lesser talent.

That's it, spring transfers only.

ETA: The pertinent info. The SEC deadline for entering the portal for intraconference transfers is before the NCAA deadline

quote:

In order to gain immediate eligibility, a student-athlete will need to declare his or her intent to transfer by February 1 for Fall sports, May 1 for Winter sports and July 1 for Spring sports. NCAA rules include similar deadlines except the NCAA deadline for Fall sports is May 1.

I have a hard time seeing many coaches allowing a guy who makes a "lateral" move to come back once he realizes the grass is not actually greener

Of course they would allow it. They have one criteria, and one only: Would he make the team better?

Maybe if they transferred to a lower tier team to work on skill and grades, but not if they transferred to another SEC school.
