Yep, never forget. I couldnt score a ticket so that morning I walked around the P-Mac outside till I found an open door, ground level. Thousands were camped out on the ramp. I walked in the door, thru locker room, and voila I was In. But I had to find a place to hide hangout for three hours till gates open. So I looked up, and the tv guys were setting TV cameras way up high. I trucked up the stairs to the top, and just asked the guys if I could hang by them. They said sure, they knew I had snuck in. So I fittle farted around with them till gates opened !!!

Very cool story.

I was a freshman in fall of '80 and witnessed the Final Four run in '80-'81.
The last home game was against Ole Miss and the first 10 students in line got to shoot for a car. I got there at 700 AM Lol. I made layup and free throw but missed top of key. That set the Assembly Ctr attend. record - 15,100 or something. We also saw Tigers beat Arky and Wichita St in the Dome to make FF... great memories.

I was there, but I was 6 so I was too young to remember much in vivid detail. I remember going to OT and having 5 starters fouling out and winning. Not much more than that.

That was the following year. LSU didn't win the SEC until the 79-80 season.

One of Daddy Dale's finest accomplishments... I was headed to the game and girlfriend at the time talked me out of going. She later became my wife... then my ex wife... I never forgave her for thie!

I was in the student section...my freshman year. One of LSU's greatest wins in any sport. UK went on to win it all, only other loss was Bama that year.

I think it was 1978. I was there in the student section on one of the first two or three rows.

Rick Maddock even scored

Rick Mattick played well in the crunch. We nicknamed him "Brick" Mattick.

Good times, good memories.

It was February 11, 1978. All five starters fouled out. Jordy Hultberg did come up big in that overtime. Even Rick Mattick got in at center.

Goose Givens made a errant pass in overtime and LSU won over Number 1 Kentucky 95-94.

Kentucky went on to win the national title that year.

I was calling the game for the local cable company for delayed playback before ESPN existed.

Ill never forget that massive dunk by Bailey off a rebound right at the end, may have been the game winner, his hand seemed to be about 2' above everyone when he went up to get it

Same here. Couldn't say who was the announcer though.

Great win. If only DB could coach as well as he recruited. He still put LSU on the basketball map.

Never forget it. 1/78...probably greatest game ever played in the Deaf Dome

I'd say top five games. I have to vote for the '90 LMU game as number one. Though it was a huge upset at the time,(UK went on to lose only one other game and won the NC)that was a very talented young group of Tigers. Though they went 18-9 and didn't even make the NIT(Very small fields compared to now)those guys went on to the Sweet 16, Elite 8 and Final 4 over the next 3 years and were a Rudy Macklin broken hand away from possibly winning the NC in '81.
