I saw enough of him in the early season to know that he ain’t it.

1000%. Pawl left a complete and utter shitshow of talent. I wondered why he left and now it’s clear as day why he did. Without JJ’s transfers LSU was going to be last in the west.

We are still ranked in the top 25.

Just because we're not on the level of Arkansas, who was ranked #2 before their road loss to Florida, doesn't mean we're bad.

Should we be better? No doubt about it. Is there still time for improvement? Yep. We went 9-6 the last 15 games last season, no reason we can't do it again, and if we do we're 16-14 in the league.

Why can’t we just admit that PM ran the team in to the ground before retiring, and it might take JJ 2-3 years to make this team a real contender?

Let’s stop pretending that JJ was going to win the CWS in year 1.

Man some y'all are so overdramatic with your hatred of Paul. I wasn't expecting a championship this year, no one should have. But to say he ran the program into the ground is nonsense.

I watched every game. I think what he is saying is there is a difference between running the program into the ground and not having it at a championship level. Roster management wasnt done well the last couple years and we fell off from a program competing to host regionals and supers to a team that is competing to make the tournament.

Running the program into the ground was what smoke did

I did. He left 3 All Americans and a talented pitching staff on roster. I'll acknowledge that there are holes in the roster, which is why no one should be expecting a championship. But ran the program into the ground? Get the frick out of here.

100%, and its not getting fixed on one offseason.

Its impossible to project future trajectory based on this season.

It’s hard to compete when your previous head coach sat around and did nothing for the last 10 years

Talented pitching staff

Literally the best 4 pitchers on the staff are transfers. JJ inherited a staff with no starters

Assuming you're talking about Gervase and Reyzelman. Who else? And why are none of the 4 best pitchers starting?

I agree. It's nonsense that he ran the program into the ground. He did what he could do with what he had.

Not on pure talent

Its because Jason Kelly is way better than Alan Dunn and JJ has a better feel for the game than Paul

Also a bunch of our better guys are Freshman or transfers

It was time to turn the page, and it’s going to take a few seasons to get back on track to the elite level we all want. We have to recruit better players, and the guys here need to figure it out. There’s nothing wrong with that. You don’t have to watch if it makes you that upset.
