The clash has been moved to tonight, wow.

Just saw that on my notifications.
Let's GO! Good decision by NASCAR.

Due to the forecast of incoming inclement weather and out of concern for fan safety, NASCAR has announced that its historic doubleheader, originally scheduled for Sunday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, will be run tonight. The NASCAR Cup Series’ Busch Light Clash will now run at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET on FS1, followed by the NASCAR Mexico Series’ King Taco LA Batalla en El Coliseo. Admission for today’s activity will remain free with limited fan services available. Seating will be general admission, with fan entry at Gates 1 & 28. The following statement can be attributed to NASCAR: “Due to the threat of unprecedented severe weather on Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Mexico Series race events for the Clash have been moved to Saturday night. Thanks to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Los Angeles Public Safety for their partnership and support to make the schedule adjustment for tonight’s event to ensure a safe experience for fans, competitors, and staff. We understand weather conditions may worsen as the day progresses, so we encourage fans to make decisions in the best interest of safety. We appreciate our fans, partners, and everyone associated with this event on this unprecedented event.”

NASCAR has gotten a lot of crap for their decision making of late, and most of it is warranted , but this was the right decision and they should be commended for it.

I’m actually excited by this decision. I prefer Saturday night to Sunday night. I’ll have to double screen between the race and Bama Basketball, though.

From NASCAR:
UPDATE: Tonight's NASCAR Cup Series Heat Races and Last Chance Qualifying Race have been canceled.
Starting positions for the main event will be determined by the fastest 22 speeds in final practice. The 23rd position will be based off of 2023 driver points.
Practice will be held at 5:35 PM ET.

No heats. No LCQ. P&Q -- three groups, three sessions apiece. First two sessions 8 minutes. Final session for each group, the group will be split in half based on owner points for 4 minutes to determine their qualifying speed. Top-22 speeds in, one 2023 driver points provisional
The group doesn't matter. It is top-22 speeds from the qualifying session (final practice session) and then one provision based on 2023 driver points.

The new Dark Horse Mustang nose looks good.

Same. Now I can crack open some white cans and enjoy it, instead of thinking about what I need to get done for work in the morning.

Anyone NASCAR accounts worth following over on Twitter/X? I follow Jeff Gluck and he seems cool, but I’m sure there are more.

Jordan Bianci and Gluck are good follows for silly season
Adam Stern is a good follow for more of the business side

Bob Pockrass is definitely worth following, too.

Like someone else said, Bob Pockrass is a really good follow.

Kinda sad to see nobody there. Downtown Los Angeles, and bad weather is a terrible combo for Nascar

The new Camry nose is more sporty looking than the old one.
