How much does an assistant baseball coach make? $15k?

Coaching stipends in North LA range from $1K-2,250 for assistants usually. $15K…

So Prairieville will probably hire someone who is already coaching at an AP school? Maybe a former head coach who’s still around. I doubt Kade would leave EA. I feel like he’s done a great job and I don’t think EA would want to lose someone like him. I feel like if they lose him, EA could really go downhill in baseball.

Agree on Keowen there is lots of interest in that baseball job. Not just AP coaches

I would think there would be quite the interest for that job. Even if the pay won’t be as great as you’d think, or there will be some bumps in the road as far as how much you can spend on assistants and other things, you could win a lot of games there pretty easily.

I think Ida and the pandemic made the school board have to cut back on what they originally wanted to spend and invest into Prairieville, but plenty of opportunity there to really create something. Not many places have that much potential in baseball talent. This goes for all sports at Prairieville tbh. Who wouldn’t want a chance to start something there. Along with working for one of the best school boards in the state, it’s a very attractive job. Baseball season is over, so I’d expect they’ll announce something real soon.

The AP school board is a disaster when comes to athletics. Given the AP schools student size, vast resources, and community support, they are incredibly uncompetitive overall in the state. It’s an administrative issue.

It’s still one of the best school boards in the state, for being a good community and public school system for education, and doing what schools are supposed to do for our youth. If you’re someone who works in a school system and you want to work for one of the best school boards, then APSB will be at the top of your list.

Shitty hire anyway.

Those two kinda surprise me. EA hasn't had the success of the past. Maybe EA guy isn't happy because of the pressure he's getting.

Zachary has enjoyed success for a good while. This year was definitely an outlier. He could pick up one of the open spots and probably be real successful.

It might be an issue of Catholic and U High next door… then Lutcher on the other side… great programs in AP but those are just better

Same issues Chalmette has

And what do we mean by a disaster in athletics? Or do we mean just a disaster in football?

More AP kids at Pbs than Cath or Uhigh(catholic is a travel nightmare coming from AP.

heck there were 2 starters on SCC football team from AP and don't forget many longtime AP folks send their kids across the river to ASC Cath.

I doubt many if any are at lutcher..

they aint a disaster in softball

This. More students and more money than any other district in the state.

It’s an administrative problem. Let me give you a great example. There were two outstanding ADs that were interested in become Prairieville’s AD but the AP School Board rule is that the head football coach has to be the AD. So two incredibly qualified people aren’t even considered because an ill-thought policy. 5A high schools should have independent ADs that don’t coach other sports.

Thats just the tip of the iceberg. Dutchtown really should be what Zachary has been the last decade. And now Central is going to blow past the three AP high schools as well now.

Investing major resources into facilities and athletics. The principal is serious about being the premiere public high school in the state.

Surprised the coaching carousel in BR Region has not started moving just yet. (or announcements made) With the current openings and the domino effect of those being filled and other jobs coming open, should be interesting an interesting summer.
