Catholic is always starting their games at 5:30 and earlier. I never knew why but I figured it was because their lights aren’t that good, or at least I never thought they were. Maybe it’s because they want the teams coming in to avoid traveling during rush hour or something?

There’s gotta be people that can vouch for me on this. Catholic has terrible lights. They had terrible dugouts and a terrible ballpark until recently tbh. They’re finally using their money, but I’m pretty sure their lights are still awful.

Compared to who or what? I can't say that I'm all too familiar with alot schedules off the top of my head, but I know quite a few of the Catholic League games in Nola start early. It is more of a recent trend, but I don't think Catholic BR is an outlier. Maybe they prefer the kids to get home at a reasonable hour. After all, they have school tomorrow.

Not many teams start at 3pm unless they don't have lights and it gets dark early.

At St. Amant, our games always started at 6 or 6:30. Seemed to be how it was around AP too, except for tournaments, double headers, or a rescheduled game or something.

May have something to do with wanting to be out of that general area by dark or something, who knows. I just know Catholic consistently starts games at 4 or 5, and I’m pretty sure it’s been that way for a while too. Doesn’t matter who it’s against. If they were starting at 3 today, that means they have to pay the umpires extra as well.

Everyone. I’ve never seen a 3pm first pitch outside of massive tournaments.

LSU commit Cupit gets the win tonight. WM pitching combines for 15 strikeouts and beat West Ouachita 7-0.

Early in season before time change I believe lakeshore games start early because they have no lights

Hahnville still doesn't have lights and plays afternoon games, but then again I wouldn't want to be watching a game at night surrounded by wooded marsh. The mosquitos are huge and aggressive back there.

The Skippers look like the team to beat on the Northshore, although Covington, St. Paul, Ponchatoula and Slidell all look like solid squads.

For most games that would mean a team leaving before school is out and that would be a no-no most places
