Funny how in football it’s always the coach and the QB. Nobody thinks of a guy like Reggie White, who was great but didn’t win a Super Bowl until he went to Green Bay, in that way.

In the NBA, Shaq in Orlando. Clyde Drexler. Dirk?

Ivan Lendl. Choked a lot of Grand Slam Tournaments early on in his playing days.

In Formula 1, Sergio Perez would likely fit this bill.

quote:

A title for harden will show that him, just like lebron and KD, did not win a title before getting on a super team. Lebron is 2 all time, no titles without a stacked loaded team.

Are you throwing shade at Harden, or diverting it to Lebron and KD? KD is undeniably one that sold himself out for a championship, greatest bitch move in all of sports. Lebron is up there but nowhere near as bad as KD. KD permanently destroyed his image and legacy IMO

oh just commenting on how hard it is to win a title. Nearly all of The greatest players in league history needed stacked teams to win titles. Let’s be honest, harden had a championship caliber supporting cast for 1 season of his career in HOU, and they were up on GSW when Chris got hurt at the end of game 5.

Dan Jansen, speed skater. Lost multiple Olypics, till he finally won.

eta: I see someone beat me to it. He’s a perfect example.

On the college level:

Before his senior year, I never was concerned with LSU having to stop Jason Campbell to beat Auburn. He balled out in 2004, completed nearly 70% of his passes on the season, and threw the game winning TD with 1:14 left in the game in a 10-9 Auburn win. Got drafted in the fist round too.
