So what exactly is impressive?
ETA: would it be impressive if Tom Brady went to coach Akron next year and led them to 6-6 with a few high profile commits and the transfer portal? No. It would not be. And it would be annoying if it’s all the media talked about.

There's a lot of hyperbole being thrown around in this thread. I think the issue a lot of people have with Neon is the media's relentless promotion of him and those that are lapping it all up. CU is not the 18th best team in the country yet the sheer volume of media coverage would have one think they are the best thing since sliced bread. Hell, Big Noon was in Boulder two weeks in a row.
Media needs clicks and viewers and it seems to be working.
On the flip side, some of us are tired of the over the top pumping of this mediocre team.

If Tom Brady took over Umass, opened the season by beating the #5 team, and started the season 3-0?

#5 team? Lol. So like OSU or Texas. CU hasn’t done that. They beat 17 who is no longer ranked an deservingly so. If CU beat a legit top 10 then sure. The hype and everything makes sense. Right now it does not.

2012 CU went 1-11
2013 Mike McIntyre started off 2-0
2016 had CU 10 wins
2007 Dan Hawkins started off 4-2 after CU was 2-10 the previous. Finished 6-6
