I’ve been saying it for a month or two, but it just feels like it’s the Mavericks year. Luka has shot like garbage all series, Kyrie had 2 first half points, and they are up 2-1. Their defense is lockdown. 2 star players, and major complimentary role players. Mavs reminding me of how Nuggets won it all last season. Best defense in the NBA right now, and they typically drain 3’s. Lengthy, and athletic. I’d be shocked if it’s not a Mavs vs. Nuggets WCF.

It's crazy how bad Dallas has been on offense in this series and is leading it. Luka has shot very poorly, just scoring by volume shooting. Role players and bench guys haven't been making shots. Game 3 is the first time Lively or Gafford have made an impact whatsoever.

The three teams that scared me in the west for Dallas were LAC, MIN, and DEN. Those 3 teams are all so dang long and defensive minded...I think Dallas can handle OKC's young team if they can get past LAC. But if they match up with MIN or DEN (which appears to be what's going to happen as DEN already leads 3-0 and MIN will lead 3-0 after tonight), I think that's a major uphill battle.

DEN is just so complete. They can shoot, they have playmakers, Joker is a matchup nightmare for guys like Lively or Gafford. Then you have MIN that has Edwards, who Dallas would struggle to guard...only options are Jones or Washington. Then you have Towns, Gobert, and Naz. Gobert can disrupt the lob game pretty easily. KAT is a mismatch for Washington or Kleber at the 4. Reid as a stretch 4/5 is a tough guard for anybody Dallas has. Just a tough matchup all around.

Idk man. I'm really talking myself into this Timberwolves team. I initially had them losing to the Suns, but they are better than I thought they were. They're much better than previous years.

I don't think I could pick them over the Nuggets, but I think they will give them a much better fight than the Laker.

Lifelong Wolves fan here...literally have never met another one. This is clearly the best team since 2004. I was very nervous with the Suns matchup - they swept us. Defense has clearly set the tone, but the difference is the Suns have three players and the Wolves bench is overperforming and wearing them out. In both games 2 and 3, KAT is in foul trouble and on the bench the whole second quarter and Minnesota is still winning the quarter. The depth is filling in huge gaps.

Are you not from Minnesota? I've been going to the Target Center since I was a kid and know plenty of diehards Early 2000s were a lot of fun - what we're seeing now is special, for sure.
