Well if we go with any "little brothers" then the options are:

Tommen
Bran
Rickon
The Hound
Loras Tyrell

Not the Hound. He's pushing up daisies.

To the original topic on Jamie. It seems he's always had that potential for honor, but the only time he really had the chance to shine (until now) was when he took down Aerys. For doing the right thing he was awarded with ridicule and slapped in the face with having his sister/lover foisted on Robert, who treated her like shite.

Now that Robert is gone, he's had time away from Court, has been humbled by the Starks and has had to work VERY hard to overcome a handicap, the idealist honor he may have had in his youth seems to be returning.

Maybe. Maybe not.

The Gravedigger and Driftwood.

Hmmm... that could be a possibilty, but I think tying anyone buy Jamie or Tyrion into the prophesy is over-thinking it. The seer used the word "brother" for a reason, most likely meaning one of her brothers (otherwise any male on the planet that's not an only child would qualify). The swerve I'm looking for is Tywin having a secret bastard somewhere.

I don't know that "alive" is technically accurate for Gregor.

True is is really a zombie, charmed by Magic.

( I just finished the last Dunk and Egg, I need more GRRM)

Are you GOT guys opposed to having a thread like last years, that has TV show character back stories and info up to the current episode, as well as links to discussion about the show and the books (all in separate threads)?

There really is a ton of GOT threads on the board, so making an attempt to consolidate them would be a good idea.

That thread from last year was perfect though, and it was a good resource to go back to.

Or perhaps he's a monk? In these situations I tend to go by the old Bill Guanere line in Band of Brothers - "If there ain't no body, there ain't nobody frickin' dead".

Arya's journey is easily my favorite story in the series. I hope GRRM doesn't die before he is able to release the next book. Her upcoming apprenticeship should be awesome. I hope they bring Jaqen H'ghar or Syrio back.

Yeah, can't wait to see her apprenticeship in the next book.

On a side note, Jaqen H'ghar is in AFFC both in the prologue and Sam's last chapter. He's the guy that kills the apprentice Pate in the prologue, and then in the Sam chapter he has taken Pate's form and is in the Citadel.

It's also kinda amusing that Jaqen kills Pate the same way Arya kills her target.

I did not notice this. How do you know it was him?

A man with odd behavior that claims to be an alchemist and matches the description of Jaqen's new face kills Pate, a Citadel novice. It is implied that the Pate we see in later chapters is in fact this alchemist, and both are probably Jaqen, a Faceless Man.

LINK

quote:

He has met a person who calls himself the Alchemist. The Alchemist has promised him a golden dragon if Pate brings him the personal key of Walgrave in three days. The personal key of an Archmaester can open any lock in the Citadel. Pate thinks about this offer for two days. He needs the gold to claim the maidenhood of Rosey, the youngest serving girl of the Quill and Tankard pub. Pate dreams of running away with Rosey.

On the third day he is with his friends, Alleras, Mollander, Armen and Roone in the Quill and Tankard celebrating Alleras' newly acquired link. They meet Leo Tyrell, another novice who thinks very much of himself and is not liked by the others. Leo mocks them and claims he will have Rosey. Shortly after the other boys go back to the Citadel leaving Leo and Pate, who is waiting for the Alchemist.

Eventually Pate thinks that the Alchemist will not show up and heads back to the Citadel. Outside the pub he runs into the Alchemist who tells Pate to follow him. Pate and the Alchemist walk to a narrow alley. Pate asks that the Alchemist show his face, which he does. The Alchemist is a young man. He has a slight scar on his right cheek, a hooked nose. His hair thick, black and curly. This is the exact the same appearance that Jaqen H'ghar takes after he leaves Arya Stark. Pate gives the Alchemist the key, thus proving himself to be a thief and the Alchemist gives him the dragon. When Pate tries to walk back he falls to the ground and dies. His last thoughts are of Rosey.

Later, Samwell Tarly comes to the Citadel and meets Alleras, Leo Tyrell and a boy calling himself Pate. Apparently the others don't know that Pate has died and that someone has taken his place
