This was pretty legit. The birthplace of animation domination.

Talking about TGIF’s greatest shows and no mention of Perfect Strangers?!

Don’t be ridiculous!

I prefered the Jeffersons over MASH especially in those later seasons

NBC had Community, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, and Office on Thursdays about 15 years ago

all good shows but none elite, which is why they werev on friday nights instead of Thursday night. the best shows were on Thursday nights for a reason, sell ads for weekends.

Yeah.
I am probably older than the OP (pre Boy Meets World).
Perfect strangers. 227. Golden Girls.
And the Newhart Show syndicated late night.

They were Friday Night babysitters.

The parents go out.
If the kids are little, hire a sitter.
If the oldest is 13 and responsible, leave the belt out in the kitchen and come home expecting everything to be OK.

On Saturday nights in the late 80s, I’d sleep over at my grandparents’ house and set the TV dial on NBC for…

227
Amen
The Golden Girls
Empty Nest
Hunter
and after the 10 PM local news,
WWF Saturday Night’s Main Event

During the ad breaks on the sitcoms, you’d get quick promos with the Hulkster and the Macho Man talking shite about the wrestling, building the anticipation to a frenzy!

That was fricking nirvana for 12-year-old me.

Friday Night ----------------- Incredible Hulk Dukes of Hazard Dallas

This was it!

Dad would pick up a pizza, we’d all watch Hulk and the Duke boys. But then Mom and Dad would close the door to the den and if our asses weren’t in bed by 9:01 CST there’d be hell to pay.
