The last cgi Lion King made a ton of money. This one was inevitable. I think it doesn't do nearly as good though. The general public is pretty dumb and can be fooled (Captain Marvel) but not twice (The Marvels).

I'll take the kids to it, but until they can give CGI animals the raw facial emotions that animation can, it won't be as good.

This wasn't needed, but I get why they did it (since the last one made a shitpile of money). But I don't think it looks bad at all. It's obviously unnecessary, but I'll likely check it out. The "live" remake was also unnecessary, but it was pretty good. And the original Lion King is my favorite animated movie of all time. And on top of all of that, my four year old boy will love this.
So for all those reason, I'm in.
