Silver Bullet fricked me up pretty good. Also IT creeped me the frick out...fricking Pennywise.

Oh, and I used to have nightmares about that little metal orb thing from Phantasm. Also, the one part of Phantasm (maybe Phantasm 2?) where there was the differet dimension where those little creature things were...used to have nightmares about that as well.

I was terrified of scary movies when I was younger, which is funny because I love them so much now.

Poltergeist

Another movie that aided my irrational fear of clowns. One of my buddies had a clown doll and it always reminded me of the one in Poltergeist.

Oh yeah, I remember when the Thriller video debuted on TV and that thing SCARED THE shite out of me.

Also, there was something called the Gas Station Wash Room that freaked me the frick out. I've never been able to find it over the years, but I think it may have been a skit on SNL or something like that. It was definitely something comical, but it scared me to death.

Original Halloween was unreal. I wasn't the same ever again frankly.

There was a movie called Bad Ronald. crazy son and mother/ kid kills someone accidently/ they create rooms within the house for him to live, mother dies, new family moves in...he's watching through holes in the wall and shite, it's stuck with me for 40 years

Yeah I still just don't like that movie for this reason. Those guys scared the crap out of me too.

I swear I had kidnapping dreams after that. And I feared any random people would take me away.

The Exorcist as others mentioned.

Also the damn Shining near the end.

Just thinking back, my mom didn't really care what I watched.

My mom let me watch ANYTHING. Blood, guts, gore, sex, nudity, scary, funny. didn't matter. Yet she jumps my case if my kids are watching something that is PG-13. Go figure.

I was always traumatized by things that made me really sad.

Mommy Dearest, like iluv said, because I was so sad that a mom would beat her little girl.

And The Little Princess. I cried through the whole movie when I was little and never watched it again.

The Are you Afraid of the Dark TV show used to give me nightmares as it was, so my parents never let me watch scary movies.

The Town That Dreaded Sundown. scared the crap out of me when I was little.

I also remember when I was 4 watching some TV movie in a hotel while we were driving back from Alaska. The woman was trapped in a shower with a glass door, and was killed by the hot water. After the movie my mom told me to go take a bath, and I went in the bathroom same type of shower. There was no way they were making me take one in it that night. I ended up standing in the sink and bathing. lol

I am super stoked that almost everybody says Poltergeist. I fell so much better about being traumatized by it. I was 14 when it came out and didn't like scary movies in the first place.

Thanks Movie Board!
