I'm glad Foreigner finally got in. Well deserved.

They should have been in 10 years ago except Jan Wenner is a douchebag of the highest order.

the two most egregious snubs for me are little feat and warren zevon. I don’t give a shite if Cher or whoever else gets in, it’s not a contest. Just give the real difference makers their recognition if you are going to have this thing at all

There are a ton of more deserving bands. It is similar to the baseball Hall of Fame. A bunch of losers decide who gets picked.

How about….
The Monkees?
Boston?
DEVO?
B-52s?
Meatloaf?
Dick Dale?
Chubby Checker?
J. Geils?
Herman Hermits?
Billy Idol?
Iggy Pop?
Etc?
Etc?
Etc?

Shameful.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is silly bullshite (God bless David Bowie for not even showing up to his induction), but it’s ridiculous those three bands aren’t in. They all had a hell of a lot more lasting influence than Foreigner did.

Can someone explain to me why Tribe Called Quest is now a hall of fame band/group?

Listen to The Low End Theory, it will become sparkling clear.

They're not a band, but we all know why.

Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and Smashing Pumpkins haven’t even been on a ballot.

The first half isn't bad (though I could do without the Dave Matthews Band). It falls off a cliff after Kool and the Gang though. (I hate rap acts being in the rock and roll hall of fame but I have no problem with funk bands from the 70s. The key word is band.)

Still no Little Feat, J. Geils Band, Kansas, or Warren Zevon though.

I have every one of Foreigner's first six albums. I couldn't name one song from The Pixies, Joy Division, or Sonic Youth. I can hear a Foreigner song on the radio every day. To the best of my knowledge I have never heard The Pixies, Joy Division or Sonic Youth on the radio. The only people those bands ever influenced are music critics and Depeche Mode.

That’s more of a damning indictment of your shitty taste than it is of the Pixies and Joy Division.

And that’s a damn shame. Especially STP.
