Your color analyst shouldn't be more upset about the refs than your head coach

Lost this series for a whole lot of other reasons that are more important.

But these fricking refs were atrocious. And we let the Thunder tell the refs how to call the game all series.

Multiple touch fouls for the Thunder, Trey Murphy shoved out of bounds no call. Dude walking under Ingram no call.

AD was fricking hot all series about it and Willie was standing on the sidelines like a fricking altar boy. Just fricking sad. I wouldn't believe in a coach that didn't fight for a fair whistle.

Willie is too good of a human being to be a great head coach. but this is what Griff wants so this is what we will have

AD being on the sideline during our home games was funny. He was being extra loud and vocal. I figured he was trying to let the refs know of some of the shite calls since Willie wouldn’t.

My wife was barely paying attention but heard him talking about his discussion with Herb about selling fouls and she asked me why he wasn’t the coach.

The 2 funniest calls I remember was game 1 after Dort being allowed to be as physical as he wanted with BI, then BI getting the weak offensive foul on the flop in the clutch...just laughable.

Then last night, after 4 games of SGA being able to get away with that little push off over and over(not sure it was ever called?) CJ does the same thing and immediately gets the offensive foul whistle.

probably some of that, but i think it was a passive aggressive way to let Willie know he needs to stop being a pussy and get on the refs arse.... basically hoping Willie would see him getting upset and loud, so he (Willie) should too...

but Willie is too worried about his perception and how he'd look to his church folk on Sunday morning to actually doing ANYTHING close to what he actually needed to do

His passivity on the sidelines is infuriating. Watching Zion getting the short end of the whistle game after game; you just can’t convince me a more fiery coach wouldn’t get him more calls. I lost all respect for Willie after the game where Herb, Trey and Dyson were kicked out late. Rather than back his players (who basically were run complaining about the calls Zion did not get), he talked about how they had to be more composed out there. I truly don’t know how he could look his guys in the eye when he walked back to the locker room. Shameful.

His whole "we win the right way" shtick is the difference between us being a contender and a play-in regular..

The league is dominated by players who hunt and sell contact to get free points.. and we encourage our team to shoot stepbacks and fadeaways because "we don't do that"

100%. I honestly don't know how he hasn't gotten a coaching job at some capacity. He's not going to get a HC job straight out the gate but I'm surprised he hasn't been snatched up as an assistant at least. Dude is so smart.

AD might get ejected a few times as a head coach but everybody in that locker room would know he’s gonna fight for you

You watched this series and truly believe that this team is a contender?

I keep seeing this thread after thread. We just got swept as the 8th seed. Yet people believe that a new coach vaults us to a top 2 seed (in a loaded West), and we should be in the Finals. It's delusional.

This season was over once Zion got hurt. A healthy Ingram should have won us a couple of games in the series, but he didn't get it done. It's that simple. A prime Phil Jackson wasn't carrying this team any further. People give coaches way too much credit. It's always about the players..

We're a 4 or 5 seed with a "prime Phil Jackson" and thus never play in the play in and Zion isn't injured before the playoffs start...

Pure conjecture. Our "stars" are soft and get injured constantly. Managing them would drive an experienced coach crazy. They can't take direction and fall out at the first sign of struggle. This is not an easy coaching gig. We keep acting like it's a finished project. It's not.

Why not?
Kidd did
Nash did
Reddick is about to

I’d love to have ADs fire and passion as our coach.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I'm just saying what I personally think. His name hasn't been in any rumor mil and he rarely talks about it other than some small hints on X from time to time.

So would I. But I think he could be X's and O's as well.
