Looking at who's on roster here's my best idea of what we should start with on the o line, considering new offense and
LT Fuaga
LG Penning/Udoh/Saldiveri
C McCoy
RG Udoh/Saldiveri&Ruiz, IMO Ruiz never should've been drafted for RG when he made it clear he had no interest in any job but C. Hes not powerful enough for RG. If he loses the job then trade him, he's only 24
RT Penning/Landon Young
As you can tell I believe the only safe job is McCoy, everything should be questioned, I believe the previous OC and O line regime were terrible

Fuaga won't play LT. Arms are far too short. He will be RT. P

I respect that, I figured that since that's what he was in college. Both T spots are super important, is our best shot to bring Peat back for LT this year

There is a 0% chance they move Penning to the right. He is just learning the techniques of the keft

I'd guess they'll put Fuaga at RT and call it done.

Salvideri, Udoh, Penning and probably Landon Young will compete for LT and LG. I also wouldn't be surprised if they sign an FA now - Becton or Peat - to solidify veteran presence at LT now that we're through the draft

DA all but admitted they are bringing Peat back when he said they aren’t done on the OL. I bet they already had a handshake agreement prior to the draft. Penning isn’t moving inside to guard. People for some reason always just think a failed tackle can kick inside and be a serviceable player but guard has it’s own set of issues. You don’t see many 6’7” guards either. Penning will either succeed at LT or he will be a bust. Your ideal scenario is both Penning and Saldiveri earn the LT and LG jobs in camp but you have to have more than Udoh as insurance.

Think they re-sign Peat and Penning will be given every opportunity to figure it out at LT. If he continues to shite the bed, Peat will slide back out to LT.

LT - Penning
LG - Peat
C - McCoy
RG - Ruiz
RT - Fuaga

Reserves
T - Young
T/G - Udoh
G/C/T - Saldiveri

I think the lineup we’ll see most will be:

LT Peat (re-signed)
LG Saldiveri
C McCoy
RG Ruiz
RT Fuaga

This.

Young and Penning will be the backup when Peat gets hurt.

I’m very glad we have a new OL coach.

OL had slipped under Marrone.

No reason to move Fuaga to a new position. LT>RT is outdated thinking. They are equally important positions, even if the pay scales haven't caught up yet. Leave Fuaga at his best position, figure out LT with Penning, Peat, or someone else.
