There was zero reason to run a play before the 2min warning. That would have made atl use their timeout and then not running at the end of the game. I'll never understand his logic or lack there of.
1st down with 2:31 left on the clock down by 5 on your the Atlanta 27.
I know that doesn't stop the p big Patterson's catch but Atlanta should have only had 25 seconds or zero time outs

If there's only 25 seconds, no way we get beat deep

If our defense is as good as everyone says it is, it shouldn’t matter.

I see what you are saying, and maybe the same thing could’ve been achieved if Stills didn’t stretch for that last yard, but this game is on the defense.

Atlanta is a horrible franchise that does not win close games. We had them down with a minute to play. That’s our game to win if the defense is worth a damn. Also, we had a fumble that Atlanta outfought us for which has been a constant theme with our team the last few seasons.

Remember the Super Bowl team could scrap for and recover a loose ball. We have different personnel on this team. We’ve had a good 4 years but when the ball is on the ground, we are the weaker team with less will to win. It’s happened time and time again the last few seasons.

Same thing last week vs TB there was zero reason to give Brady that much time thankfully he threw the pick six, but he should have not had the opportunity. The giants game was lost on defense because we didn't close out the clock up by 11 and were snapping the ball with 15 seconds left if kills me. We run the clock down to 2 sec each play we walk out with a win.
If nobody has the balls to tell him he is deficient at this aspect of the game I will volunteer to explain how to manage the clock.

You score when you can score. The smartest thing that could have happened in yesterday's game was if Williams let's Cordarelle score on the long pass. Then we get the ball back with one timeout and about a minute left.

No coach is perfect and time management is but one of Payton's flaws.

Each team usually has someone that just focuses on this issue and helps advise the coach in these situations.

Whoever that person is for the Saints sucks or Payton doesn't listen.

And when we are playing catch-up the opposite clock management happens. In the 4th quarter down 3 scores we are bleeding the clock down to 5 seconds.

He’s terrible and I mean terrible and has been forever, I don’t understand why he doesn’t get called out on it but I guess the media is scared to do it

NO ONE is or has ever been as bad as Les Miles at clock management.
