Need more context. Do they have the drop where I pretty much have no chance to fight and I would die trying? Throwing my life away gives less of a chance at me trying to get her back by other means. If I can fight, I fight.

Maybe....but do you think he trains as much as I do? I practice self defense shooting about 150 rounds once a week. So he'd better shoot me before giving me a 1.5 second window to draw.

I think in the spirit of this thread, they have the drop on you.
At that point, she's almost certainly raped and dead if you let it happen. You might be dead regardless of what you do. Your only chance is that the bad guy is less committed than you and maybe hesitates and let's you get a hand on the gun. Odds are very high you die if he actually is committed.

Probably grab her, throw us in the ground and use my body as a meat shield, hopefully they'll just pick our pockets. Can't imagine perp wanting to pop one off in public and ruin his chances of some rape time.

I'd like to think I'd fight. I've been I a couple situations that have taught me I can go one way or the other. I have some training but not enough for it to be anywhere near automatic. I'm also ficked if they are on top of their training

There has been a debate about imposing very harsh sentences for kidnapping and abduction. The perps know that if/when they get caught they will be going away for a long time, possibly forever, so they are incentivized to "leave no witnesses". It's like that armored car heist scene in Heat when they execute Guard #3 because what difference does it make. Some argue that downgrading certain situations might spare some lives. I don't necessarily agree with that but I know how I would feel if someone kidnapped my kid, which is offer anything to get them back safely.

I’d fight for my kid until death if I had to… but if I get the advantage of the attacker I would end up in jail for severe torture.
