so we can't release the kids name already released but we can spread probable rumors about the cause of his death.

You can release either, it doesn't make it the right thing to do. The family is suffering enough without a random message board spreading info about their dead kid by name.

They have a gofundme setup already. Or someone set it up, so keeping it quiet is out the window.

Help me understand something….why are drugs laced with fentanyl now? Is it for an extra boost in the high? Or does it reduce the cost to manufacture the drug?
You would think the manufacturers and dealers wouldn’t want to kill off their clients.

Nephew who played football for Rice died a few years back. Had some back pain and one of his friends gave him a pain pill. He died.

Blain Padgett 6-5" 250... a little pill took him out.

Help me understand something….why are drugs laced with fentanyl now?

quote:

Fentanyl is both sold alone and often used as an adulterant because its high potency allows dealers to traffic smaller quantities but maintain the drug effects buyers expect. Manufacturers may also add bulking agents, like flour or baking soda, to fentanyl to increase supply without adding costs. As a result, it is much more profitable to cut a kilogram of fentanyl compared to a kilogram of heroin.

quote:

Fentanyl is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and up to 100 times stronger than morphine. Because it is strong and cheap to produce, people who manufacture illegal drugs use fentanyl to make other drugs more powerful and less expensive to make. Fentanyl can be added to pills, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines, and other drugs.

quote:

Done correctly, lacing illicit drugs with fentanyl often creates a return stream of customers because fentanyl is considered highly addictive. This is why fentanyl is often found in drugs like cocaine, counterfeit Xanax, counterfeit Adderall, or other drugs not classified as opioids.

quote:

A fraction of fentanyl could mimic the highs of other opioids, like heroin or prescription painkillers. Dealers will often use simple binding agents and a small amount of fentanyl when making counterfeit opioid pills or what they say is heroin, according to law enforcement.

Because a smaller dose has a similar effect relative to other opioids, it is also easier to smuggle.

Eric Falkowski, an incarcerated former fentanyl dealer interviewed by ABC News, claimed he could make over ten times the amount of counterfeit opioid pills with a kilo of fentanyl rather than with a kilo of traditional components.

quote:

However, the drug is so profitable that it's worth the risk. Falkowski told ABC he was able to have "a pretty long run” selling drugs laced with fentanyl before his pills killed someone.

rumor is bootleg Percocet laced with fentanyl.

People aren’t buying bootleg Percocet if they don’t have a drug problem. He may have covered it up well, or the family covered it up well, but that kid did a lot of drugs before he took a bootleg Percocet laced with fentanyl

Thanks….i guess that fentanyl is so powerful that the drug can be easily laced too much to result in death unintentionally.

If fentanyl was around in your heyday, I doubt you're around to flee to Alaska

This was happening when I was in college.

Just surprising is all. Id figure parents and schools would have gotten a hold of this by now.

If you are a parent you have to explain to your kids that pharmaceuticals can kill you.

They prob all think its safe just because its a pill. And half their class are on pills.

Fentanyl is an opioid. Its potent and cheap and you just mix a tiny bit with whatever non-drug ingredients.

Most people buying pills want the actual effects of fentanyl (opioids). it's just you are dealing with street drugs, so you don't know how much was put into it.
