She has one of those, but he just spent $40K on a truck he can't afford....

I like nice cars, but I don't understand how so many people drive SUVs, trucks, and luxury sedans. I know that most families have no business of owning $40K+ vehicles...average salaries just don't support it.

$601 for a 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn.

Will be trading down to $300-$350 for the next one. I love this truck to death but $600 is a lot of money every month.

Have a 600+ note accidentally double paid it last month, didn’t even realize. 600 is only a lot because you don’t make a lot.

Nobody builds wealth with a car note like that. Financing a depreciating asset don't work. Get a cheaper vehicle and pay cash.

Whether an asset depreciates or not doesn’t impact the financing decision. Yes most people should get cheaper vehicles. Paying cash is sub-optimal if you have good credit and financial discipline.

I can remember the days when you could finance a Ford Pinto for 69 dollars down and 69 dollars a month. Thought that was too much and passed on that deal. Bought a used 69 Nova for 800.00
