Are 'Thank You' notes no longer something you're expected to send..

..when you get married and receive expensive gifts or large checks?

The last two weddings I've been to I gave gifts and cash to each and spent over $500 each time without receiving a thank you card.

Is it just that people have become selfish and lazy or that this just an old tradition of civility that is no longer practiced?

It's part of a decaying society.

The last 3 weddings my wife and I attended we received thank you notes. I'm sure with the times changing and people being so selfish they don't even take the time now.

Obviously they weren't raised right. We still get thank you notes, although tbh it doesn't bother me whether they send them or not.

Older tradition. I don't care to receive a thank you card

It's just fallen out of favor much like the wristwatch.
The younger generation sends texts and has a clock on their phone. Laziness prevails.

I send thank you notes for receiving a thank you note. Anyone with enough balls to send back another thank you is getting one in return.

If Oldmanbeasley learned anything from years of studying Derek Jeter, it’s always send a thank you note and gift baskets.

I don’t care if I get a thank you note. Actually I’d rather not get one so the person sending it isn’t wasting money on stationary and postage thats going into the trash anyway

We sent them out after our wedding last year. Took a couple of months though.

My piece of shite niece by marriage already has one kid and isn't with the baby daddy. Gets pregnant by another loser and decides to marry this one by JOP. So, they throw some bullshite "Brew After the I Do" party...basically just a way to get free shite. My sister-in-law keeps "forgetting" to bring my Thank You card. Heaven forbid they buy a freaking stamp and put it in the mail.

Considering we now live in a world where the younger generation thinks they are entitled to everything...surely, they don't think they need to thank someone, for something they deserve.

ETA I will not be buying another baby shower gift

Blame the parents for raising unappreciative children.

My grandmother & mother would drive hours to come whoop my arse if I didn't send a thank you card.

I wrote thank you cards for taking interviews for an internship while in college...

I raised my daughter right, so it's only appropriate if she texts people this when showing gratitude

Nah, he already has 2 kids from a previous relationship and was looking for someone to raise them. If he ever gets custody of them. Its a total white trash shite show.
